#112 Can The Rams Pull Off The Upset??

Posted on

Divisional Weekend is my favorite football weekend of the year. All the best teams duke it out, but it’s also always the weekend where I reunite with my college buddies for 48 hours of sweating the games and playing poker.

We’ve done Vegas a million times and last year we randomly did Biloxi, Mississippi (prolly not for everyone, but we loved it). This year we are doing a slimmed down version of it virtually, which sucks, but we’ll make the most of it.

I’ll have newsletters out on both Saturday and Sunday before the games start with all the latest news, but here’s everything on my radar right now...

  • John Wolford has been ruled out for Saturday and Jared Goff has been named the starter. The Rams are 7 point road underdogs vs. the rested Packers on Sunday. One sec, lemme put my football guy hat on...ok: Jalen Ramsey will need to shut down Davante Adams and Cam Akers will need a big day for them to win.
  • Ronald Jones returned to practice Thursday. The Ronald Jones Experience necessitates that he rushes for 100+ yards and 2 TDs after being a mysterious late scratch last week so plan accordingly.
  • Neither of the Saints vulturesLatavius Murray or Taysom Hillpracticed yesterday.. I’ll post the full Thursday practice report below and we’ll check back in on these tomorrow as well.
  • Want to get prepped for DFS this weekend? At 1pm today the Splash Play podcast is running simulations with guest Justin Freeman on which players are most likely to appear in the winning lineups. And then at 4pm, I’ll be talking with Peter Jennings aka CSURAM88 on the best tournament strategies for the 4-game slate.
  • The Seahawks are apparently interested in hiring former Chargers coach, establisher of the run, and bungler of clock management, Anthony Lynn, to be their next offensive coordinator. Sounds like a blast.

Full Thursday Practice Report:

DNP: Latavius Murray (quad), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle/hip), Sammy Watkins (calf), Taysom Hill (knee)

Limited: Chris Godwin (hip/quadriceps), Mike Evans (knee), Ronald Jones (quad/finger), Cooper Kupp (knee), Cole Beasley (knee), Jared Cook (back)

Loose ends. Urban Meyer will be the next Jaguars head coach...Robert Saleh will be the Nets new head coach...Mike Clay has some prop bets for you on ESPN+ for Divisional weekend.
