#123 ✍️ Everything You Need To Know From NFL Free Agency

Posted on

Since we last talked, the Free Agency train has continued to chug along. Here’s everything I’ve been following...

  • Kenny Golladay signed a massive 4-year, $72 million deal with the Giants. The Babytron-Shepard-Slayton 3WR sets are looking pretty, pretty good.
  • Phillip Lindsay to the Texans, Mike Boone to the Broncos. Crowded backfield in Houston, but Lindsay is easily the best pure rusher of the group.
  • Adam Humphries agreed to a contract with the WFT. Humphires is a nice fit alongside McLaurin and Samuel. This offense is really coming together.
  • Tevin Coleman signed with the Jets. Could see him and Ty Johnson alternating series.
  • T.Y. Hilton re-upped with Indy for a one year deal. The Ghost lives on.
  • Damien Williams lands in Chicago after a year hiatus. I’m always willing to bet against David Montgomery.
  • Mike Davis is replacing Gurley in Atlanta. Not the biggest shoes to fill. The Falcons will surely draft a RB, but this could be a sneaky nice spot for Davis to carve out a passing role.
  • DeSean Jackson signed with the Rams. Nice speed element complement to Woods and Kupp.
  • Matt Breida to the Bills. Breida is perpetually Mr. Potential, but neither Moss or Singletary ran away with the job last year, sooooo...
  • My guy Chris Conley signed with the Texans. Still question marks on QB situation, but targets should be there.
  •  Jon Gruden told the media that the team plans to use Kenyan Drake at WR. This is a news blurb as old as time: “Team Plans To Deploy Player With Specific Skill Set As A Swiss Army Knife.” Don’t fall for it.
  • Matthew turned all of the “heartwarming” comments he receives from fans into inspirational posters. I’m inspired.
  • You honestly have to respect the Chicago Bears’ social media manager for firing this tweet off with a straight face.
  • Today on Splash Play pod we hunted for weird sports memorabilia on eBay. See what we uncovered.
  • The Scott Fish Bowl is a massive fantasy football community league run by Scott Fish where you can compete against Matthew, me, and your other favorite fantasy football personalities. Sign up here for a chance to compete.

Have a good weekend.
