#203 🚨 Updated Week 2 Fantasy Rankings

Posted on

In today’s Fantasy Life Newsletter we enjoy Waz’s updated rankings and some of Cooterdoodle’s favorite tweets. It's 9/18.

Our rankings maven Waz is back with updated Week 2 ranks and a few notes on the interesting situations heading into Sunday. Take it away, Waz...

* With Josh Jacobs ruled out of Sunday’s road matchup against the Steelers, I’ve elevated Kenyan Drake ten spots to RB29. Pittsburgh boasts a stingy run defense, so temper expectations, but Drake should see enough volume for Flex consideration. Unless you’re desperate, I’d avoid buying into Jon Gruden’s Peyton Barber narrative.

* Will Fuller has been ruled out of Sunday’s game due to a personal matter. The Dolphins are hosting a Bills team that Pittsburgh found success against through the air. While it won’t be an easy secondary to beat, Jaylen Waddle (WR38) and DeVante Parker (WR53) possess skill sets that lead to big splash plays and are firmly in flex play consideration.

* Marquise Brown (WR40) didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday but did log a limited practice on Friday. He’s been nursing an ankle injury, but seeing him practice on Friday hints that he should be good to go for Sunday. Still, there is an outside chance that Sammy Watkins (WR60) gets an uptick in looks. Monitor Brown’s availability before early Sunday games. If there’s a hint at limitations, Watkins is a sneaky flex play.

* It doesn’t appear that Tyrell Williams will be able to return from the NFL’s concussion protocol this week, but don’t go chasing to find a replacement. The Lions are 11.5 point road underdogs against the Packers and carry an implied team total of 18.5. If you’re in a pinch, I have Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR70) as the Lions pass-catcher (not named T.J. Hockenson) with the best odds to outscore his peers.
