#281 Injuries, Weather & Top Week 13 Plays

Posted on

In today’s Fantasy Life Newsletter presented by Hulu + Live TV, we get you ready for Week 13 with all the news you need to know. It's 12/5. Take it away, Peter Overzet…

As usual, we have lots of moving parts today. There are multiple players in the late games (Darrell Henderson and James Robinson) who are legitimately questionable to play and we also have weather concerns for two games.

If you have any specific start/sit questions, be sure to check out our free Week 13 fantasy rankings by Waz, which were posted in yesterday’s newsletter.

As fantasy players, our time is extremely valuable. Every second spent toggling back and forth between live TV and streaming services is time not spent grinding the waiver wire. * The biggest question mark of the day centers around Darrell Henderson’s availability. He’s been dealing with a quad injury and the early morning reports suggest that the Rams are “not optimistic” about him playing this afternoon vs. the Jaguars. Sony Michel should be rostered and started everywhere if Henderson misses.

* Jalen Hurts will not play today vs. the Jets. Gardner Minshew will get the start. Downgrade the entire offense.

* David Johnson (illness, thigh) won’t play vs. the Colts today, leaving Rex Burkhead to lead the backfield.

* Darren Waller, Melvin Gordon, Justin Fields, Phillip Lindsay, Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney

* Both Kyler Murray (ankle) and DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) will return to the lineup today vs. the Bears. Murray sounds fully ready to go, though Schefter said Hopkins “could be used more sparingly than usual due to his injury and the weather conditions." Considering Hopkins has been out since Week 8, he’s a dicey start.
* James Robinson (heel, knee) plans to “try to play” vs. the Rams today, per Schefter. "He has been hobbled for weeks now, but was feeling better Saturday," said Schefter. Because this game is late, make sure you have a backup plan ready. Carlos Hyde would lead the backfield if he missed.

* Brandin Cooks (illness), Odell Beckham (hip), Josh Jacobs (ankle), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness), Curtis Samuel (groin), DeVante Parker (hamstring), Boston Scott (illness)

Kevin Roth is a meteorologist for Rotogrinders who specializes in weather impacts for fantasy sports. There are two games this week with weather worries

* ARI @ CHI has a very good chance of seeing rain, with spotty downpours and a 15mph wind bringing some impacts to the passing game.

* NE @ BUF will see a blustery night on MNF, temps around freezing with a 20mph wind pushing long throws and kicks off target.

I have a handful of bets up on Betsperts for today’s games if you want to tail me (username: peteroverzet). Good luck today and enjoy another day full of football.
