#38 ✂️ The Jets Cut Le’Veon Bell! ✂️

Posted on

Last night I witnessed one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever seen in football. And I’m not talking about the Jets releasing Le’Veon Bell and leaving behind a dead cap hit of $19 million over the next two years.

No, it would be Derrick Henry stiff-arming Josh Norman into another plane of existence. Seriously, look at this:

In addition to one of the more vicious plays you’ll see, we also got an incredible new meme template for the foreseeable future. Send me yours on Twitter and I’ll share some of the best ones tomorrow. Here’s my favorite so far.

The Tennessee Grown Ass Men. Between Derrick Henry (2 TDs), A.J. Brown (8-82-1), and Jonnu Smith (5-40-2), I agree with my friend Sal...we might need to rename the Titans the Grown Ass Men. The Titans manhandled the Bills last night, forcing Josh Allen into some bad mistakes and scoring at will. Brown looked every bit the part of an alpha WR in his return from injury, Smith moved to TE4 on the year despite already having his bye, and Ryan Tannehill has now led the team to massive point totals over their last three games (42, 31, and 33).

The Jets release Le’Veon Bell. After getting no takers on the trade block, the Jets finally caved and released the disgruntled veteran. As Matthew notes, it’s hard to see wherever he lands not being an upgrade for his fantasy value. The rumor machine is already in hyperdrive. If you are a Bell owner you are hoping to run as pure as Fournette owners. Chiefs anyone? I like Bill Barnwell’s call on the Bears here...As far as newfound fantasy value in the Jets backfield. Sigh. I guess Frank Gore could get more touches. Maybe they get rookie La’Mical Perine more involved? Your guess is as good as mine.

Start getting prepped for Week 6. Rich Hribar is back with the Week 6 Worksheet on Sharp Football (get access via the RotoPass package)...Pat Kerrane shared the most important stats from Week 5 and how to apply them on the waiver wire in this week’s edition of Stat Chasing...Matthew wants to hear what league formats you guys like playing in. Hit him up on Twitter.

Injury roundup. John Brown (knee) and Zack Moss (toe) were surprise inactives for the Bills last night...Chris Godwin (hamstring) was spotted running at practice yesterday...Keenan Allen is dealing with back spasms after his injury on Monday night...With Dalvin Cook unlikely to play, the Vikings expect Alexander Mattison to serve as the team’s feature back in Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons...DJ Chark and Tyler Eifert will not practice today.
