#42 All Hail 👑 Henry

Posted on

We got a MNF doubleheader tonight with the Chiefs-Bills game kicking off at 5pm ET. I sure hope all of the west coasters are up by then. But while they sleep soundly, let’s recap everything that happened in Week 6...

It’s Not DHember, but Henry is still the 👑: Derrick Henry went nuclear yesterday, totaling 264 yards and rumbling his way to 2 TDs, including this runaway locomotive 95-yard TD run. Fun fact: Jeremy McNichols somehow averaged more yards per carry than Henry yesterday.

The Demise of Julio Was Greatly Exaggerated. Despite a weird pattern on the injury report throughout the week, Julio Jones reminded everyone what he is capable of as he popped off for 137 yards and 2 TDs. This was the game to target yesterday with Justin Jefferson (166 yards and 2 TDs) crushing on the other side.

How Long Can Adam Gase Keep His Job? The Dolphins laid such a hard smackdown on the Jets yesterday that Tua entered the game in garbage game. Fun fact: he threw his first career pass to my dude Patrick Laird

Rojo Continues To Roll. With Leonard Fournette inactive again, Ronald Jones rushed for 113 yards and 2 TDs in the Bucs win over the Packers. Gronk was the other surprise performer on offense, clocking in for a vintage line of 78 yards and 1 TD on 8 targets. Not much to note on the Packers side other than Aaron Rodgers going full McCringleberry on the TD celebration.

Let D’Andre Swift Cook. The rookie exploded yesterday on 18 touches for 123 total yards and 2 TDs. I know Adrian Peterson looks solid, but Matt Patricia needs to get the ball in his hands this much going forward. FYI: Swift gets Atlanta in Week 7

Fulgham & Claypool Encores. Both Chase Claypool (74 yards and 1 TD) and Travis Fulgham (75 yards and 1 TD) rewarded fantasy players who were willing to ride the hot hand from last week. I don’t know what to do with JuJu Smith-Schuster (2 receptions for 6 yards). He continues to play second, and more recently, third fiddle in this offense.

Injury Watch. Eagles’ Zach Ertz (toe) & Miles Sanders (left knee) are set to undergo MRIs due to injuries vs. the Ravens. This team is a Final Destination reboot at this point...Raheem Mostert (ankle) didn’t finish the game last night...Jonnu Smith (ankle) is dealing with a sprain. His availability for Week 7 is in some doubt...We’ll check in on more injury stuff tomorrow.

Week 6 DFS Review. Derrick Henry was the hot topic at the DFS watercooler last night as people debated whether he was a good play or not at his elevated ownership (aka chalk). I recapped my terrible Week 6 here and how to approach chalky RBs in DFS. Also, shout out to my buds Pat Kerrane and Peter Jennings, who were smart enough to play Henry and win big tournaments.

Week 7 Lookahead. The Splash Play pod recorded late last night to recap Week 6 and dish out some early Week 7 waiver wire adds (hello, Boston Scott)...The Steelers and Titans, who are both 5-0, will square off in Week 7 to see who can remain undefeated.

Enjoy Mecole Hardman night, everyone.
