#44 It’s Tua Time In Miami

Posted on

The Miami Dolphins will start rookie Tua Tagovailoa Nov. 1 against the Los Angeles Rams after their bye this week.

It’s hard not to get excited about this from both a “real” football and fantasy football perspective. Just check out some of the quotes in this Miami Herald article from his teammates:

“He can do it all”...”He’s a smart guy”...”He has a cannon for an arm”...”He slings it. He gets the job done”

For fantasy, what we really get excited about is the potential for a dual-threat QB racking up rushing yards. In most leagues where you get 4 points for a passing touchdown, the added rush yards give QBs both a high floor and a massive ceiling. It’s the reason why there are weeks where Josh Allen can have back-breaking mistakes while still outscoring a statue QB like Matt Ryan

Regardless of how your team looks at QB, I recommend trying to get Tua on your squad. The bye week should provide some sneaky cover to add him affordably. Check out Matthew’s take on Twitter on how this could impact the pass-catchers in Miami.

Stats on Stats. As usual on Wednesdays, I like to pass along some of my favorite stat-based primers to help prepare me for the waiver wire and DFS each week. You can get access to Rotoviz, Sharp Football, RosterWatch and other great sites via the RotoPass network.

Injury roundup. Mark Ingram has been diagnosed with a mid-to-high left ankle sprain. As Shawn Siegele at Rotoviz notes here, this might be the last chance to acquire J.K. Dobbins cheaply...Death, taxes, and DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery limited at practice...Darius Slayton (foot) was also limited at practice. No word yet on his status for Thursday...Christian McCaffrey won’t return in Week 7. Keep rolling Mike Davis.

Random nuggets. Got a little shoutout from Matthew on ESPN while he discussed the Chiefs backfield situation with Field. Brb sending this clip to my mom...John Ross wants out of Cincinnati so Mike Clay fired up the trade machine...The Patriots WR situation is dire...Daniel Jones is...really fast???
