#47 Read This Before Setting Your Lineup

Lots going on this morning. Here’s everything you need to know before setting your Week 7 lineups...

Morning Buzz. Aaron Jones traveled with the team to Houston, but will sit today with a mild calf strain. Jamaal Williams is a great start in all formats and is priced nicely in DFS...There’s a report via Ian Rapoport that D’Andre Swift is set to see an expanded role this week. Makes sense considering how good he looked last week...There’s another report that Gardner Minshew is on a short lease and that the Jags could turn to Mike Glennon if he continues to struggle...

Weather in Denver. There is a winter storm warning and accumulating snow (3-5 inches) expected during the Chiefs-Broncos game this afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be around 16 degrees at kickoff, in addition to some wind. Wind, way more than snow, is the most important thing to pay attention to as far as weather impacting scoring. I’m shying away from this game for DFS, but still fire up all your studs in season-long leagues.

An Interesting DFS slate. We have a full 12-game slate that will stretch all the way to Sunday Night Football after the DFS sites decided to keep the Cardinals-Seahawks game on the Main Slate. We also have two cheap RB options, Williams and Gio Bernard, in play with Jones and Joe Mixon ruled out. The shifting dynamics have resulted in some chalky RB plays (Alvin Kamara is going to be heavily rostered), but no single game will catch an outsized portion of ownership. This is a great week for tournaments.

INACTIVE: Aaron Jones, Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson, Dawson Knox, Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Jordan Akins, John Brown

Jamison Crowder is out. Rookie Denzel Mims will see his first bit of NFL action today alongside Breshad Perriman, Braxton Berrios, and Jeff Smith...Tyler Kroft will handle most of the TE snaps for Buffalo with Dawson Knox on the reserve/COVID-19 list...WRs Tre’Quan Smith and Gabriel Davis are stepping into bigger roles with no Sanders and Brown, respectively.

ACTIVE: Robert Tonyan, Sam Darnold. Curtis Samuel, Baker Mayfield

Mayfield is not 100 percent and is “pushing through” injuries to both his ribs and chest. The Browns will be leaning heavily on Kareem Hunt today vs. the Bengals.

EXPECTED TO PLAY: DeAndre Hopkins, Justin Jackson, Raiders Starting Offensive Line, Jeff Wilson

Jackson practiced in full on Friday, though Anthony Lynn still expressed some uncertainty around his health and the team promoted RB Troymaine Pope from the practice squad, which would seem to indicate Jackson is truly questionable. Check the inactives before gametime, but he is expected to play as of now...Despite being limited in practice this week with an ankle injury, Hopkins is expected to play tonight against the Seahawks. If you have Hopkins, it still might be worth rostering a guy like Andy Isabella or David Moore as a safety net just in case Hopkins is a late scratch...Make sure to check the inactives on the Raiders OLine before the game. Their status will obviously have a huge impact on that game.

Antonio Brown To The Bucs. Since we last talked on Friday, Antonio Brown signed a one-year deal with the Bucs. This is great news for people who have Tom Brady on their teams, but as Matthew describes here, not ideal for Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Rob Gronkowski, who will all take hits in their weekly target expectation.

Good luck today, everyone.
