#52 DeeJay Dallas On The 1s & 2s 🎛️

Posted on

I had taken the Panthers -2.5 in the SuperContest last night so for the cursed Falcons to not blow a 4th quarter lead the one time I try to financially gain from their consistent meltdowns seems truly unfair.

If you have Todd Gurley (outplayed by Brian Hill), Mike Davis (vultured), Calvin Ridley (injured), or D.J. Moore (ignored), last night’s game probably felt unfair to you, as well. Curtis Samuel (2 TDs) and Julio Jones (7 catches for 137 yards) were the only above par fantasy contributors. Oh, and Younghoe Koo (4/4 on field goals).

Sharp Football Flash Sale for Friday October 30th. The 42 total points scored in last night’s ATL/CAR game means you get 42% savings site-wide until 8pm ET, Friday.  Use code SHARP42 on any package from Sharp Football. In the Week 8 Betting Preview, T..A. Cleveland likes a side in that big Ravens-Steelers tilt.

With TNF in the rearview mirror, we’re onto the Week 8 main slate, where we have lots of injuries to monitor. I’ll list the full practice rundown from Thursday below, but here are the most interesting situations:

Joe Mixon > Gio Bernard. Mixon missed another practice with his foot injury. If you snagged Bernard last week, it looks like you might get another spot start vs. the Titans.

Aaron Jones > Jamaal Williams. Same deal in Green Bay, where the Packers don’t want to rush back Jones and risk reaggravation. With Tyler Ervin inactive and AJ Dillion minimally involved, Williams is a must start again in all formats if Jones misses.

Chris Carson/Carlos Hyde/Travis Homer > DeeJay Dallas. We faded the Hyde bids earlier in the week for Dallas and things continue to trend that way with all of the RBs not named DeeJay missing practice again on Thursday. Dallas is a must stash right now and would be a slam dunk play if he has this backfield to himself Sunday.

Mark Ingram > Gus Edwards. Despite having the bye week to rest up, Ingram still isn’t practicing with his ankle injury. There are definitely reasons to be excited about rookie J.K. Dobbins getting more touches if Ingram misses, but Gus The Bus is the direct one-for-one Ingram replacement and would be a nice spot start, especially in non-PPR leagues where his lack of pass catching won’t hurt you as much.

Dalvin Cook > Alexander Mattison. I personally think Cook will play based on quotes from the Vikings and coach Mike Zimmer, but if he misses practice again today then we could be looking at a chance for Mattison to get some redemption on his flop two weeks ago.

Julian Edelman/N’Keal Harry > Jacobi Meyers. Edelmen underwent a “precautionary” knee procedure per Adam Schefter and is set to miss multiple weeks. Harry didn’t practice yesterday. The Pats are down to a skeleton crew at WR and Meyers has looked solid when he gets burn. This is one of those “you could do worse” recommendations.

DNP Thursday: Chris Carson (foot), Allen Robinson (concussion), A.J. Brown (knee, weekly maintenance), Sterling Shepard (shoulder/toe), Devonta Freeman (ankle), Miles Sanders (knee), Mark Ingram (ankle), Aaron Jones (calf), Joe Mixon (foot), Sammy Watkins (hamstring), N’Keal Harry (concussion), Breshad Perriman (concussion), Andy Dalton (concussion)

Limited Thursday: Dalvin Cook (groin), Tyler Higbee (hand), Phillip Lindsay (limited), Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring), DeVante Parker (groin), Josh Jacobs (knee), Adrian Peterson (abdomen), Allen Lazard (core), Jamison Crowder (groin)

Week 8 Preview. The Splash Play Podcast was joined by John Daigle from Rotoworld last night to give out our favorite plays for Week 8, but it was Spags’ mic malfunction at the beginning that stole the show. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.

DFS Strategy. Brian Hooper aka Bric75 is a Top 10 DFS player in the world who builds all of his own projections and plays at the highest stakes. I picked his brain for an hour on DFS strategy and how to win big tournaments

SNF: Jalen Reagor (thumb) has been medically cleared and is expected to suit up Sunday. If he’s still on your waiver wire you need to grab him ASAP. Dallas Goedert (ankle) said he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of playing Sunday. Dick Rod owners eagerly await his decision.

Loose ends. Digging Matthew’s “man, Delorean” costume on The Fantasy Show...George Kittle went all out for National Tight Ends Day.

Talk to you all on Sunday.
