#57 🤷🏽🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏼‍♂️ Who Is Playing Tonight For The Packers & Niners?

Posted on

Despite seemingly every starting player either injured or on the COVID-19 list, tonight’s Packers-49ers game is still scheduled to be played.

League officials told Schefter that there is a “0.0%” chance that this game gets postponed or rescheduled. For the record, I would love to bet the max on long odds there. We know nothing is ever a “lock” when it comes to COVID, but as of now this game will be played.

With Deebo Samuel, Brandin Aiyuk, and Kendrick Bourne all placed on the COVID list and George Kittle injured, the 49ers will roll out Richie James, Trent Taylor, Ross Dwelley, and presumably a few practice squad call ups (Kevin White, anyone?) to round out their pass catching corps tonight. Jordan Reed is eligible to return, but we are still waiting on that news as well.

On the Packers side, Aaron Jones is truly questionable, while Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillion have been placed on the COVID list. That leaves Dexter Williams and Tyler Ervin as the running backs available for the Packers tonight. Allen Lazard (core) made the trip to San Francisco, but it’s still unclear if he will go.

You’ll need to stay tuned for inactives around 6:45pm ET to make any decisions on lineups. I recommend turning on notifications for the Fantasy Life app, where you get real time pushes on late-breaking news, including the full inactives list. There’s simply too many dominoes to fall to make decisions now. Good luck.

QB Carousel. We have lots of shake ups at QB this week...Matthew Stafford was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list because he is considered a “high-risk, close contact.” He is still eligible to play against the Vikings Sunday if his tests are negative over the next few days, but Chase Daniel could be in line to start if not...The Cowboys still haven’t announced whether Cooper Rush or Garrett Gilbert will receive the honor of getting clobbered by the Steelers on Sunday...Jake Luton will start at QB for the Jags.

Full injury rundown. Wednesdays are always a big day for practice reports. As always, we can’t overreact to most of these as there is lots of maintenance and load management going on at this point in the season, but I like to pay attention to the ones who pop up on the injury report out of nowhere, especially if it’s a hamstring injury. Ezeliel Elliott and Matt Brieda are two to closely monitor.

DNP: Kenyan Drake (ankle), Chris Carson (foot), Mark Ingram (ankle), Anthony Miller (toe), Kenny Golladay (hip), Devonta Freeman (ankle), John Brown (knee), Phillip Lindsay (foot), Calvin Ridley (foot), Greg Olsen (foot)

Limited: Alvin Kamara (foot), Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring), Drew Brees (shoulder), Chris Godwin (finger), Jordan Wilkins (groin), T.J. Hockenson (toe), Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring), Sterling Shepard (shoulder/toe), Matt Breida (hamstring), Tim Patrick (hamstring),

Full: Christian McCaffrey (ankle), Chris Godwin (finger, status still TBD), Austin Hooper (appendix), Antonio Brown

Loose ends. Emmanuel Sanders was activated off the COVID-19 list...Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) may not play again this season.
