#59 đź“š Read This Before Setting Your Lineup

Posted on

Despite a few scares this week—Matthew Stafford getting placed on the COVID list momentarily & Keenan Allen’s sore throat—we are good to go for Week 9. We even have good weather across the board this week. It’s high 60s and sunny in Buffalo today for the game expected to see the most points on the slate (O/U 55).

Here’s everything you need to know before setting your lineup..

Keenan Allen. Per Adam Schefter, Allen tested negative for COVID this morning and will play vs. the Raiders despite his sore throat.

Matthew Stafford. Similarly, Stafford’s COVID test came back negative this morning and he officially is cleared to start today vs. Minnesota. We are mercifully spared a Chase Daniel start. Can’t escape Jake Luton, though.

Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott’s status is something we won’t know until after he tests out his hamstring during pre-game warm-ups (we’ll know if he’s playing by 3pm ET). The overnight reports were more optimistic on his chances to play than the reports on Friday. Still, it makes little sense to me to play a banged up Elliott behind a poor offensive line in a game where they are 14.5 point underdogs vs. the best pass rush in the league. And have their bye next week. But what do I know? If you’re playing DFS, I’d leave some flexibility in your lineups to play Tony Pollard ($4,000 on DraftKings) if Zeke sits.

Christian McCaffrey. CMac will make his return to action today. The reports on his workload are mixed. I’ve seen some say that he will command close to his normal workload, while another hinted . The team was never going to rush him back, which means he’s good to go.

Michael Thomas. Thomas is expected to play. Jene Bramel says to expect some rust, but no reason after two weeks of reconditioning without setbacks that he shouldn’t be able to command double-digit targets.

Here’s the full list of inactives for the 1pm games, as well as who is expected and not expected to play in the later games...

ACTIVE: Phillip Lindsay (foot), Matthew Stafford, Christian McCaffrey (ankle), Jordan Howard (hamstring), John Brown (knee), Tim Patrick (hamstring), Dez Bryant
