When you’re used to the RedZone dopamine firehose on Sundays it can be a very jarring switch to island games on MNF.
Steelers-WFT was that watched pot that wouldn’t boil in the first half, but Alex Smith made enough big throws down the stretch to hand the Steelers their first loss of the season. Antonio Gibson, who was one of the most popular plays on the 2-game DFS slate, left the game early with a toe injury.
Things picked up with Bills-Niners thanks to Buffalo’s uber aggressive, pass-heavy stylings. Josh Allen finished with 347 yards, 4 TD passes and 9.4 YPA. Cole Beasley (9-130-1) led the Bills in receiving with Stefon Diggs (10-92) not too far behind.
We still have one more remnant of Week 13 tonight with Ravens-Cowboys, but for now it’s time to keep churning the waiver wire for those who made it to the playoff promised land.
The Top 5 Waiver Adds For Week 15
Cam Akers (RB - 35.2%) - We’ve recommended Akers a few times, but his rostered % in ESPN leagues still isn’t high enough at 35.2. He improved on his solid Week 12 with a career-high 21 carries, 71 yards and a TD in Week 13. Darrel Henderson and Malcolm Brown are unlikely to fully go away, but this is enough volume to hang our hats on. The Rams have a solid playoff schedule for RBs, to boot: NE, NYJ, @SEA. Keep an eye on his shoulder, though. He did miss practice on Monday.
Ty Johnson (RB - 0.3%) - Frank Gore left the game early on Sunday, which opened up a massive opportunity for Johnson. He finished the game with 22 carries for 104 yards and a TD. As someone who gets roasted for playing Denzel Mims every week in DFS, I know people don’t like playing Jets, but Johnson looked good Sunday and the team has an unshakable commitment to establishing the run regardless of game script.
Keke Coutee (WR - 11.6%) - Based on this rostered percentage, not everyone snagged Coutee last week. He’s now coming off a 9 target game he turned into 141 yards. With no Will Fuller, Randall Cobb, or Kenny Stills, there’s no reason to think Coutee can’t continue to command a similar target share.
Tim Patrick (WR - 15.6%) - Patrick has been a steady producer for the Broncos all season. He has at least 10 fantasy points in 7 of his past 8 games after removing the Kendall Hinton game (which should be universally scratched from the record books). The only knock on Patrick is his schedule isn’t ideal over the next 3 weeks (@CAR, BUF, @LAC), but...you could do worse.
Cole Kmet (TE - 0.5%) - I talked about Kmet on the Splash Play pod this week because he has quietly surpassed Jimmy Graham over the past two weeks, earning 13 targets versus just 7 for Graham. He also out-snapped him and earned the key red zone targets, which he turned into a solid 5-37-1 line vs. the Lions on Sunday. He has a solid matchup vs. the Texans this week if you need a TE.
Loose ends. Chris Godwin underwent a minor procedure Tuesday to have pins removed from his broken finger...Josh Jacobs (ankle) is looking unlikely for Sunday...The Panthers placed both Curtis Samuel and DJ Moore on the COVID-19 list. It’s unclear right now whether they will get clearance to play this week…There’s optimism Christian McCaffrey will return for Week 14...
Enjoy Ravens-Cowboys tonight.
