Well, JuJu did a TikTok dance on the Bengals logo before the game and then the Bengals proceeded to dance all over the Steelers for 60 minutes en route to a stunning 27-17 upset win over what I have to assume is the most fraudulent 11-3 team in NFL history.
Big Ben, who has a $41.25 cap hit next season, looked lost out there. Benny Snell had a serviceable game (18-84-1), as did Diontae Johnson (8-59-1), but it was the Bengals defense and run game that stole the show here. And when I say “show”...I’m using that term very loosely.
With Week 15 in the books, the time has come for our final waiver wire newsletter of the year. I’m sure you're sad, maybe even devastated, but let’s try to hold it together as we rundown the top 5 options for those of you still chasing championships, toilet bowls, consolations, or even just a personal sense of pride.
The Top 5 Waiver Adds For Week 15
Tony Pollard (RB - 21.8%) - Pollard was a popular handcuff during draft season, but would appear to have been dropped in most leagues. Ezekiel Elliott was ruled out at the last minute on Sunday and Pollard absolutely smashed in his absence: 69 yards rushing, 63 yards receiving, and 2 TDs. We don’t know Zeke’s deal for Week 16 yet, but Pollard is a must add just in case he sits again.
Jalen Hurts (QB - 31.9%) - Hurts should be rostered in 100% of leagues right now. He had 4 total TDs on Sunday and is already one of the most electric players in fantasy. Start Hurts for vs. the Cowboys this weekend and win a championship.
Salvon Ahmed (RB - 23.4%) - Ahmed crushed in Week 15 after missing a couple games, totaling 122 yards and 1 TD. This is a similar deal with Myles Gaskin as it is with Pollard & Zeke, so keep tabs on the practice reports, but Ahmed would be a great play vs. the Raiders if Gaskin continues to miss.
Baker Mayfield (QB - 27.3%) - Mayfield is on fire these days. He has 10 TDs and is 3rd in fantasy points among all QBs over the past 4 weeks. Now he gets the most forgiving pass defense of all, the New York Jets. I prefer Hurts, but Mayfield is a great start this week if you are in a pinch at QB.
Russel Gage (WR - 21.3%) - With only one week remaining we aren’t worried about breakouts and youth, all we want is targets and good game environments. Gage continues to perform when Julio Jones is out of the lineup (he has 3 straight games of double-digit scoring & 25 targets) and now the Falcons face the Chiefs where they will need to throw a ton to keep pace.
Injury rundown. Both Tyler Boyd (concussion) and Eric Ebron (back) left the game early last night...Cam Akers (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16...The Falcons are saying Todd Gurley’s role has changed and Ito Smith is now the lead back.
