Anyone can draft a fantasy football team. What separates those who merely draft a team from those who consistently win championships is how well you manage your roster during the season.
Fantasy Life has the best tools and resources to help you do just that.
The best part? It’s affordable to the masses. With a combination of free content and premium upgrade opportunities, Fantasy Life has you covered.
Rankings
Who doesn’t love good old-fashioned rankings? Sometimes the easiest place to begin building your vision for your fantasy football roster starts with a simple list from some of the most accurate, consistent rankers in the industry.
The Fantasy Life rankings are updated in real time and react to breaking news, trades and other meaningful reports. Easily sort the rankings by your favorite Fantasy Life ranker, by individual positions or, my personal favorite, the Flex function. This combines all offensive positions into a single list, which can help you figure out how to value different positions against each other — such as RBs, WRs and TEs.
Fantasy Life’s proprietary rankings also help power our “Draft Champion,” a next-generation mock draft simulator available to Fantasy Life users.
Projections
Congratulations, you’ve officially drafted your team and are now getting ready for Week 1. Instead of using your league platform's projections, use Fantasy Life’s NFL Weekly Projections tool to give you the edge you need.
Here’s how it works:
“Our in-season projection model is built on historical data that focuses on expected game environment and team archetypes. For example, our model understands how a slow-paced, run-heavy team behaves differently than a fast-paced, pass-heavy team in leading, close, trailing and blowout game scripts.”
How cool is that? Our in-house suite of tools and resources is designed to empower you, the fantasy manager, to make the best decisions possible for your weekly lineups.
Start/Sit
Projections are handy, but sometimes you just want a quick visual of which players to start. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Our powerful, intuitive Start/Sit tool is here to help.
Simply select your league scoring format, input up to four players and immediately receive an easy-to-read chart that tells you everything you need to know. Looking for the player projected to score the most points? The point projection is listed first. Curious to see who is projected to receive more rushing attempts, targets or attempt more passes? You can easily compare players across different positions to help answer those tricky flex or superflex lineup decisions.
Defense vs. Position (DvP)
Let’s dive a little deeper. While the Start/Sit tool makes it easy to highlight specific projected stats, the Defense vs. Position (DvP) tool shows how each team defense performs against opposing offensive positions.
Curious to see how an NFL team matches up against opposing RBs? What about their secondary and how well they limit WR production? The DvP tool allows you to see if your players are heading into a favorable or unfavorable matchup. This updates each week so you can see how teams are progressing throughout the season.
Utilization Report
Prepare yourself, because this next tool is arguably the best thing ever created. Dwain McFarland’s Utilization Report is one of the most widely read pieces in the industry each and every year.
Here’s how it works:
“This report will help you understand which players are due more or less according to their roles. Based on historical data tied to metrics we know drive volume, it is a great way to understand who is overperforming (sell high) and underperforming (buy low).”
Buy low. Sell high. Two great American pastimes in fantasy football.
The weekly article highlights data from the corresponding tool. The Game Log feature helps you understand how often a player is on the field, what type of rush or target share they are getting and how many air yards they’re seeing, just to name a few valuable metrics. Much like the Start/Sit tool, you can input up to four players to see how their stats compare.
Not only is it a revolutionary tool, it’s incredibly easy to use.
Waiver Hub
You’ve survived the opening weeks of the season and your team is already off to a great start. (Of course it is — you’re using Fantasy Life’s powerful set of data-driven tools to beat your opponents.)
Now, one of the most critical elements of in-season management is upon you: waivers.
If you are unfamiliar, waivers is the process by which you add players to your roster who are currently not on a roster. Different leagues have different policies for how waivers are handled, but let’s assume you use the FAAB system (Free Agent Acquisition Budget).
Fantasy Life has a Waiver Wire article and Waiver Hub that updates each week. In these, we let you know who we are targeting as waiver additions, the order we’d prioritize them and how much of our waiver budget we’d spend. Knowing that each league is unique, this helps give you a general sense of how to attack those un-rostered players.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a tool to meet a specific need, Fantasy Life has you covered. And these tools are the most powerful when used in conjunction with one another.
For example: You're looking to make a tough start/sit decision and stuck between a WR and a RB. While you could simply use the Start/Sit tool, give this a try:
First, look at both the weekly rankings and projections. Get a sense of what the Fantasy Life analysts think of those players given the unique scoring format of your league. Next, check out of the DvP tool and see how the opposing defenses match up against either WRs or RBs. Is one much stronger or weaker than the other? Finally, head over to the Utilization Report and see how each player's usage has been trending. Is the WR earning snaps, targets and air yards? Is the RB staying on the field inside the 5-yard line or during the two-minute drill?
These resources can help you manage your fantasy football team week in and week out. The results speak for themselves. Give them a try and watch your expertise grow this fantasy season.
