We’ve got another full day of baseball on Tuesday. All 30 teams are scheduled to be in action, and while there are two early games, most of the contests take place this evening. That’s a blessing on a day when not much else is going on in the world of sports.

Let’s dive into five of my favorite wagers for Tuesday’s slate.

MLB Bets Today – Tuesday, April 9

Milwaukee Brewers ML at Cincinnati Reds (+120; BetMGM)

The Brewers remain one of the most undervalued teams in the betting market despite a 6-3 start to the year. They’re taking on the Reds on Tuesday, and they’re moderate underdogs against Frankie Montas. Montas has looked impressive to start the year, posting a 0.77 ERA through his first two outings, but he has plenty of room for regression. His FIP is a much more manageable 3.58, while the full-season projection systems had Montas pegged for an ERA in the mid-fours.

The Reds will still have a pitching edge over Joe Ross, but once this game goes to the bullpens, it’s advantage Brewers. They had the second-best bullpen ERA in baseball last year, and they’ve graded out significantly better than the Reds’ relievers in terms of Stuff+ this season.

The sharps are all over the Brewers in this spot, with Milwaukee receiving 83% of the dollars on just 30% of the bets (per the Action Network). Play them up to +115.

Baltimore Orioles F5 ML at Boston Red Sox (-130; FanDuel)

This contest features an intriguing pitching matchup between Corbin Burnes and Brayan Bello. While Bello might be a future ace, Burnes is already one. He got off to a slow start last year but rebounded with a 2.71 ERA over the second half of the year. He’s followed that up with an impressive first two starts with the Orioles, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.86 xERA, and 1.95 FIP.

Any time you can back a pitcher like Burnes on the first five moneyline at -130, it’s something to consider seriously.

More MLB Bets for Tuesday, April 9

Royals ML vs. Astros (+110) – The Astros have been in a bit of a funk to start the year, and they’ll face Cole Ragans for the Royals on Tuesday. Ragans has lived up to the billing after last year’s breakout, pitching to a 1.46 ERA and 11.68 K/9 through his first two starts. He’s yet to pick up a win, but that could happen on Tuesday.

Phillies-Cardinals F5 Under 4.0 (-105) – Zach Wheeler vs. Sonny Gray does not sound like a formula for many runs. Wheeler is one of the best pitchers in baseball, and Gray has posted a 3.08 ERA or better in two straight years. He’ll reportedly be limited to around 65 pitches in his first start of the year, but that’s still enough to go around five innings.

Nate Eovaldi Under 7.5 strikeouts (-150) – The Paydirt sims are very bearish on Eovaldi today, with him going under 7.5 more than 93% of the time. Eovaldi is not a big strikeout arm – 7.62 K/9 in 2024, 8.25 last season – so this line feels like an overreaction to his matchup vs. the A’s.
