What are College Football Power Rankings?
Fantasy Life's College Football Power Rankings for 2024 are provided by Thor Nystrom to, simply put, rank each of the 134 FBS teams from best to worst.
The table includes not only their current power ranking for the current season, but the difference relative to where they finished last season, and more.
How do I use the College Football Power Rankings Table?
The table includes a multi-faceted look at how each team stacks up any given week, including:
- Rank: their current Power Rank based on their Power Ratings from Thor.
- Conf: the conference that the respective team belongs to.
- Last Week: The difference between their current power rank and what they were ranked last week.
- Proj Wins: projected wins for the respective team for the 2024 season.
- Power Rating: Using a multitude of factors, including a combination of returning players, strength of schedule, and pre-season performance grades, Thor calculates a “power rating" to assign to each team.
- SOS Rank: The “strength of schedule” ranking is how easy (or difficult) each team’s schedule is. The difficulty can be affected by several factors, including opposing teams’ returning player count, transfers, and more.
