Dynasty Fantasy Football Guide To Week 10: Trade Targets, Adds, and More
The fantasy football process looks (roughly) the same, regardless of the format you play--fantasy football waiver wire research on Tuesdays, trade considerations throughout the middle of the week, and setting lineups toward the end of the week.
That said, there are subtle nuances that dynasty fantasy football managers have to pay attention to in order to alter their strategy. To assist, I'll be consolidating everything a Dynasty Fantasy Football manager needs to know to prepare for the week ahead.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Target For Week 10
Cooper Rush, QB - Cowboys
We're at the point of the fantasy football season where you might be forced into making some pretty gross start/sit decisions. Dak Prescott (hamstring) left his Week 9 matchup early and did not return. Cooper Rush filled in and tallied a decent line of 13-25 for 115 yards and a score in this place.
The Cowboys have had a disappointing season, but Dak has been fantasy-relevant, for the most part. Entering this weekend, he had topped 20 points in four of his last five and was well on his way to topping that mark again this week.
Rush has filled in for Dak in the past with mixed results. He still has CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson as top-tier weapons. Even so, the lack of a legitimate run game will cap Rush's upside, keeping him as a low-end QB2. He's only a viable option in SF formats.
Trade Targets for Dynasty Fantasy Football
Rashod Bateman, WR - Ravens
The former first-round pick has had a disappointing career relative to expectations. In his first three seasons, Rashod Bateman never had more than 515 receiving yards or 2 TDs in a single season. Thankfully, he's well on his way to having a career year with the Ravens.
As Lamar Jackson continues to develop as a passer, which only further cements the fact that he's truly one of one, the Ravens offense keeps reaching new heights.
This season, Bateman has at least four targets in eight of nine games. It might not sound like much when we're talking about high-end target earners, but it's a great floor that we can expect on a weekly basis.
The athleticism is still there and being tied to Jackson and this offense is about as good as you could ask for. Bateman fits the mold (and situation) of a profile we want to target as a potentially ascending asset in dynasty formats.
Van Jefferson, WR - Steelers
The Steelers enjoyed their week off this weekend but that can sometimes open up trading opportunities for managers who are paying attention.
Russell Wilson has elevated this offense and certain players are benefiting. In two games with Wilson as the starter, Van Jefferson has either 60+ receiving yards or a TD. George Pickens remains the clear-cut WR1 but Wilson opens up the field in a way that Justin Fields just can't.
If your fantasy team needs a bit of inexpensive depth (don't we all?), Jefferson is someone you should be targeting in your dynasty leagues.
Player to Trade Away in Dynasty Leagues
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR - Titans
In his first four weeks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine didn't earn a single target. Following his Week 5 bye, he's been an entirely different player. He's now scored a TD in four straight games.
However, like everything else in life (and fantasy), extra context is needed.
Westbrook-Ikhine has four receiving TDs on 10 total receptions. You don't need to be a math whiz to know that's not sustainable and negative regression is coming. It's also worth noting that Mason Rudolph has been filling for Will Levis (shoulder) over the last three weeks. We'll see what happens with this offense when Levis returns soon.
If there's a "box score scout" in your league, and all he sees is the four TDs over the last four weeks, float him an offer and sell high on Westbrook-Ikhine. At this point in his career, we know what he is and a weekly starter doesn't seem to be it.
Fantasy Football Breakout Watch
Nick Chubb, RB - Browns
I gotta say, it feels weird to tab Nick Chubb as a breakout candidate. Even so, looking at what he's done in his first three games back from injury, a much bigger game is coming. Here's what he averaged over the last three games:
- 14 rushing attempts
- 37 rushing yards
He has just one TD in that span but his increasing level of involvement should spell for more scoring opportunities moving forward.
Another element to consider is the new-look offense under Jameis Winston. The early returns have been positive overall so that should translate to more scoring opportunities for the offense overall. All of this means good things for Chubb.
Looking to next week, Cleveland is on bye. That means the Chubb manager will have gone essentially a month of disappointing/no production from the asset they waited so long for. Take advantage of that and secure a potential league-winning option down the stretch.
