Dynasty Fantasy Football Guide To Week 11: Trade Targets, Adds, and More
The fantasy football process looks (roughly) the same, regardless of the format you play--fantasy football waiver wire research on Tuesdays, trade considerations throughout the middle of the week, and setting lineups toward the end of the week.
That said, there are subtle nuances that dynasty fantasy football managers have to pay attention to in order to alter their strategy. To assist, I'll be consolidating everything a Dynasty Fantasy Football manager needs to know to prepare for the week at hand.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Target For Week 11
Roman Wilson, WR - Steelers
Here's a name you probably didn't think you'd see heading into Week 11.
Roman Wilson was selected by the Steelers in Round 3 last spring but hasn't played a snap in the NFL. This certainly makes him more of a long-term, speculative stash but I think he's worth the risk right now.
The Steelers have re-tooled their season under Russell Wilson and George Pickens (oh, and that elite defense). Even so, the lack of a true No. 2 wideout isn't something this team can ignore forever.
Wilson (the WR, not the QB) projects to play out of the slot whenever he's able to return from IR, which will be at least a couple more games. That makes him the ideal complement to Pickens and how they run their offense.
This is the perfect time of year for non-contending dynasty teams to start making subtle moves to load up for the future, like acquiring Wilson. If you're out of the playoff hunt this year, or even if you are, it's never a bad time to at least consider your fantasy team for 2025.
Trade Targets for Dynasty Fantasy Football
Cam Akers, RB - Vikings
It's handcuff season.
As the fantasy playoffs approach, it's a wise decision to determine A) who the backup is to your starting RB and B) if it's worth acquiring them.
Aaron Jones managers got a big scare this weekend when the veteran left with a chest injury. Thankfully, he returned for the end of the game but, in his stead, it was Cam Akers who stepped up with 14 total touches.
Jones has turned back the clock in his age-29 season as he's been a true workhorse for the Vikings. However, injuries can happen at a moment's notice. Jones' managers should be looking to snag Akers in the coming days before the veteran is limited and/or misses time with any lingering effects of his injury.
Jonathon Brooks, RB - Panthers
Jonathon Brooks was the first RB selected from his class when he came off the board in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He hasn't yet played this season because he's been rehabbing an ACL injury dating back to college.
Even so, despite the relatively weak RB class overall, Brooks is young, talented, has the draft capital, and resides on a team in desperate need of offensive playmakers.
Here's how he rated in our Rookie RB Model.
The general tenor and excitement surrounding Brooks have been steadily rising over the last few weeks as news started to come out that he might be playing soon.
Then, the worst thing happened that could have happened (besides an injury setback). Teammate and fellow RB Chuba Hubbard signed a 4-year, $33,200,000 contract last week.
Talk about tanking the dynasty value of a young, promising RB who hasn't even seen the field yet. To be fair, Hubbard earned that contract as he's been quietly one of the more productive players at his position this year.
All that being said, this is the perfect window of opportunity to snag Brooks while the general masses are reeling from the contract news. The rookie is four years younger which certainly matters in dynasty formats and he's not any less talented just because his teammate got the bag.
The RB landscape can quickly change in the NFL. You might need to be a bit more patient but Brooks immediately becomes a buy-candidate in all dynasty formats.
Player to Trade Away in Dynasty Leagues
Alec Pierce, WR - Colts
If you've been an avid reader of this weekly segment, you know I like to target those managers in your league I fondly refer to as "box score scouts". That's not to say they exist everywhere, but we're naturally inclined to follow the fantasy points first before truly diving in and realizing how those points are scored.
The Colts might regret benching Anthony Richardson in favor of Joe Flacco, but their actions can still provide opportunities for savvy dynasty managers.
Alec Pierce continues to find new ways to defy both the odds (and statistics). Yes, at some point, a player is who he is, but I will always bank on the long-term viability and reliability of use and underlying metrics.
Pierce has just two games this season with more than three receptions and, coming into this week, had scored single-digit PPR in six of his last seven games. Simply put, he's too volatile and can't be trusted to consistently provide fantasy points.
Let someone else take the headache while you cash out and secure more consistency elsewhere.
Fantasy Football Dynasty Breakout Watch
Audric Estime, RB - Broncos
Audric Estime doesn't have the draft capital of the aforementioned Brooks but he's the second-youngest RB in his class and is starting to earn more opportunities on the field.
He tallied just 15 total carries scattered across five games before earning a whopping 14 carries in Week 10 against the Chiefs. It was reported last week that his role could grow over the second half of the season and that turned out to be true in a big way.
Thankfully for those of us who wanted to wait a week before we bought in on the hype, Estime only managed to rush for 53 yards (3.7 YPC) and only posted 5.3 PPR.
However, like we always do, let's take a peek at his underlying metrics. He handled 82% of the RB rushing attempts and accounted for 80% of the Broncos rushing output in Week 10. Perhaps more surprisingly, Javonte Williams handled just one rushing attempt after topping 12 attempts in each of the last three games.
It'll be interesting to follow the news and storylines coming out of Denver this week but regardless, it looks like a true Estime breakout game is coming so you better jump on board.
