The fantasy football process looks (roughly) the same, regardless of the format you play—fantasy football waiver wire research on Tuesdays, trade considerations throughout the middle of the week, and setting lineups toward the end of the week.

That said, there are subtle nuances that dynasty fantasy football managers have to pay attention to in order to alter their strategy. To assist, I'll be consolidating everything a Dynasty Fantasy Football manager needs to know to prepare for the week at hand.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Target For Week 12

Jermaine Burton, WR - Bengals

We've reached the part of the fantasy football season where I start taking stock of my various rosters and looking to the future.

If my team isn't looking to make a playoff push, it makes sense to start looking ahead. However, even if my team is set to make a deep run, it's never a bad idea to start looking at how the roster might shape up next fall.

Understanding contracts and team environments is crucial for making deft moves as a dynasty manager and one name I'm closely following is rookie wideout Jermaine Burton.

We know Cincinnati runs through Joe BurrowJa'Marr Chase. That's left Tee Higgins on the outside looking in and he's all but done as a Bengal after this season.

The team drafted Burton in Round 3 and he hasn't done much on the field this season. However, he's a talented player who was productive in college.

Sometimes, dynasty football doesn't have to be hard. All I need to know is the Bengals drafted a talented, above-average athlete from a high-end program and he'll get to play alongside Burrow and Chase for the foreseeable future. It might take a few years for Burton to find his role but in the post-Higgins era, the WR2 job is his to lose.

Trade Targets for Dynasty Fantasy Football

Jerry Jeudy, WR - Browns

It's hard to know how long the Jameis Winston era in Cleveland will last but, for the time being, fantasy managers have to be pleased with the results, especially those with Jerry Jeudy.

The departure of Amari Cooper allowed Jeudy to handle the WR1 and he hasn't disappointed yet.

Jeudy has 8+ targets and 70+ receiving yards in three straight performances, capped off by a monster performance this past weekend. Jeudy has had a bit of an up-and-down career since being selected 15th overall by the Broncos back in 2020.

However, I'd argue the talent is still there and now he's making the most of his new-found opportunity. Regardless of what the Browns do at QB after this season, Jeudy is still only 25 years old and has flashed enough consistent upside to warrant being a trade target in dynasty formats.

D'Andre Swift, RB - Bears

I'm writing this as a grateful resident Packer fan after they defeated the Bears on a blocked FG to end the game.

(How do you like that, Kansas City?)

Despite the Bears' struggles, the problem does not lie with Caleb Williams. It's definitely on the coaching staff. However, despite everything, D'Andre Swift has been a constant (if uninspiring) piece of this offense.

His presence in the ground game and involvement in the passing attack have provided some semblance of consistency and upside to this offense. If the Bears end up fixing their coaching staff, Swift immediately becomes a more intriguing prospect.

Still only 25 years old, I don't mind investing in Swift as the Bears (and Williams) continue to turn things around.

Player to Trade Away in Dynasty Leagues

Taysom Hill, QB/TE - Saints

Ah, Taysom Hill. The perpetual thorn in the side of Alvin Kamara managers for too many seasons to count. Every year, he gives us a performance for the ages – one that includes passing attempts, rushing attempts, receptions, and the occasional TD (or two).

This past weekend, Hill topped 30 fantasy points which was his single-highest output in a game since Week 5 of 2022.

You know what that means…a random, high-scoring output without historical context to suggest this will continue will almost assuredly land you on the trade-away list, even in dynasty formats.

Hill has been the quintessential Swiss army knife for both real and fantasy football for the last few years. While he certainly has a role for the Saints offense, it traditionally hasn't been one we can count on for fantasy purposes consistently enough.

Someone will take a swing at Hill (there's always one in every league). Use his blow-up game as an opportunity to flip him for a more consistent piece and/or future draft capital.

Fantasy Football Breakout Watch

Jaylen Wright, RB - Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins traded up to select Jaylen Wright in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. One of the younger players in this draft, he posted a 4.38 40-yard dash and topped 95th percentile scores in the 40-yard dash, speed score, and burst score.

His age and speed score jump off the screen in our Rookie RB Model.

Playing behind both De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert has left little work for Wright this season; he has just one game with double-digit carries. However, Mostert (32 years old) continues to deal with injuries and it's only a matter of time before the speedy rookie has his first statement game.

Especially in dynasty formats, Wright is someone I would be looking to acquire as we start to wind down the fantasy football regular season.
