The fantasy football process looks (roughly) the same, regardless of the format you play--fantasy football waiver wire research on Tuesdays, trade considerations throughout the middle of the week, and setting lineups toward the end of the week.

That said, there are subtle nuances that dynasty fantasy football managers have to pay attention to in order to alter their strategy. To assist, I'll be consolidating everything a Dynasty Fantasy Football manager needs to know to prepare for the week at hand.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Target For Week 7

Isaac Guerendo, RB - 49ers

The Kyle Shanahan offensive system remains undefeated. It doesn't matter who gets the nod in the backfield; fantasy success seems to follow.

While Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell have been sidelined since the start of the season, it's been Jordan Mason who's been the fantasy star thus far. Then, in Week 6, Mason went down with an AC joint sprain.

Another man down … another man up. Enter, rookie Isaac Guerendo.

Despite being one of the oldest RB prospects in this class, he paced all incoming rookies with an impressive 125.7 speed score. His speed and landing spot couldn't have made for a better match for fantasy managers.

 

Guerendo turned his 10 rushing attempts into 99 yards and his speed was clearly on display on Thursday night.

His efficiency popped in college as well. Last season, he turned 132 rushing attempts into 810 (6.1 yards per carry) yards and 11 TDs. To highlight his versatility, he even averaged 10.6 yards per reception on 22 receptions.

Regardless of what happens with Mason (or CMC) in the weeks that follow, Guerendo should be rostered in your dynasty leagues. His profile and his offensive environment are too enticing to leave him on waivers.

Trade Targets for Dynasty Fantasy Football

Ty Chandler, RB - Vikings

The Vikings were on a bye this week so that opens the door for a few different trade opportunities. Starting RB Aaron Jones went down with a hip injury in Week 5 and is considered week-to-week. The former Packer has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons and that's opened the door for someone else to step up – Ty Chandler.

Chandler really made his presence felt over the second half of last season.

 

Over the stretch, he handled 56% of the rushing attempts and even had a 31% route participation. For as efficient as this offense has been running this season, Chandler could immediately slide into your starting lineup as an every-week player should Jones miss time.

De'Von Achane, RB - Dolphins

I'm doubling down on a suggestion Dwain McFarland made last week: go make offers for Dolphins players like De'Von Achane.

There's no getting around it – Achane and this offense have been brutal since Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) went down a few weeks ago. After topping 23 PPR in consecutive weeks to begin the season, Achane is currently on a three-week streak of single-digit performances.

 

However, it sounds like Tua is available to return to practice after Week 7 so we could see him on the field again before too long. If that happens, Achane should be much closer to reaching the type of ceiling we saw to start the year.

The Dolphins enjoyed their bye this week so the Achane manager, by default, enjoyed yet another useless week of their high draft pick. Now is the time to make an aggressive offer and take the chance that Tua returns and this offense gets back on track.

Player to Trade Away in Dynasty Leagues

Bub Means, WR - Saints

If you're looking at the above name and wondering who that is, welcome to the club. After Chris Olave (concussion) went down early in the game, rookie wideout Bub Means had himself quite the performance.

He turned eight targets into five receptions for 45 yards and a TD. Means entered Week 6 with a single target on the season and zero receptions.

So, who is this guy?

Means played at three colleges, most recently Pitt, and had his best season last year when he topped 700 receiving yards and scored 6 TDs. He came in at No. 28 in our Rookie WR Model.

In addition, fellow rookie Spencer Rattler is looking like the starter for the next few weeks with Derek Carr (oblique) on the sidelines. I wouldn't be all that excited about any fantasy options for the Saints outside of Alvin Kamara and maybe Rashid Shaheed.

This is not to say that Means won't be more involved in Olave's absence, but I would be selling him based on this performance. Take advantage of someone desperate to fill a flex spot because of injuries or bye weeks.

Breakout Watch

Grant Calcaterra, TE - Eagles

We're entering the portion of the season where you might be forced to make some pretty … interesting … start/sit decisions.

Dallas Goedert (hamstring) did not finish his Week 6 performance which allowed backup Grant Calcaterra to post a season-best line of 4/67 on four targets.

While the Eagles offense generally funnels through wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, this offense has historically utilized the TE position pretty well.

This breakout watch is certainly injury-dependent so make sure to keep an eye on Goedert's status this week. However, hamstring injuries can be tricky so even a one-game absence shouldn't be out of the question.

If Goedert sits out Week 7, feel free to fire up Calcaterra if you have a need at the position.
