Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings Update: Tetairoa McMillan and Kaleb Johnson Rise
I hope you had a chance to tune into the NFL Draft last weekend. As a resident Wisconsinite who has spent plenty of time in Green Bay and attended many Packers games, it was incredible to see over 200,000 people pack the smallest-market venue in the National Football League.
With 257 rookies hearing their names called across the three days of the draft, and many more quickly finding new homes as UDFAs, it's time to update my dynasty fantasy football rankings.
In the short term, these rankings will periodically change as I get a better handle on landing spots and situations, but expect them to solidify as we get deeper into the offseason.
Dynasty Rankings Update: 1st Edition
Rising QB2s in SF/2QB Formats
If you play in a Superflex or 2QB dynasty league, I feel much better today about the quality and depth of the QB position than I did last week. The elite options are still elite, but many of the mid-tier guys saw significant upgrades.
- Trevor Lawrence added Travis Hunter
- Bryce Young added Tetairoa McMillan
- Baker Mayfield added Emeka Egbuka
- Jordan Love added Matthew Golden & Savion Williams
- Caleb Williams added Luther Burden & Colston Loveland
- C.J. Stroud added Jayden Higgins & Jaylin Noel
In the weeks leading up to the draft, I specifically tabbed both Lawrence and Young as QBs I would be looking to target in dynasty leagues this offseason. Offensive help, better coaching situations, and general growth were all main reasons why I was bullish on both of them, but even I could not have predicted them landing the top-two wideouts in this class.
I even feel better about guys like Bo Nix and Drake Maye. If you've ever been on the fence about stepping into a more competitive dynasty league that places a much higher value on the QB position, now is the perfect time to do it.
Even looking at the incoming rookies, Cam Ward should see the field right away, while guys like Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders should see the field at some point during this upcoming season.
The Next Generation of TEs
The passing of the torch at the TE position has already begun. Generational greats like Travis Kelce are now showing their age, while rising stars Brock Bowers and Trey McBride have taken the mantle for themselves.
To put in perspective just how special the top of this TE class has the potential to be, both Loveland and Tyler Warren represent two of the top-six spots in our Rookie TE Model from 2018-2025.

Admittedly, it's a mixed bag. The Kyle Pitts story is all but written, and both Noah Fant and Dalton Kincaid have disappointed relative to expectations. It's hard to put ALL the blame on Michael Mayer, who only had one year before Bowers nuked his potential, and both T.J. Hockenson and Sam LaPorta have turned into great players.
We still need to be patient with rookie TEs. In Chicago, Williams has a new head coach in Ben Johnson, who should help unlock the offense. However, there are suddenly a lot of mouths to feed in the Windy City. As for Warren in Indy, we don't know who the QB will be or how exactly that offense will function.
Regardless, it's a great time to get in on some of these young, exciting TEs in your dynasty leagues.
Influx of RB Talent
The 2025 RB draft class was long-heralded as having both top-end talent and incredible depth. We're starting to see the true impact of that fact, just mere days after the conclusion of the draft.
Take a look at the top-eight RBs courtesy of the Rookie RB Model.

I don't have to remind you how talented Ashton Jeanty is, and the trio of Omarion Hampton, TreVeyon Henderson, and Quinshon Judkins makes for an incredible tier of its own.
Perhaps the biggest draft weekend winner was RJ Harvey. The Broncos backfield was always going to be enticing for whoever they drafted, and Harvey is now that guy.
However, looking further down the list highlights one of my favorite options at the position: Kaleb Johnson. The Iowa product landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round, and there's a clear path for him to take on a significant workload in Year 1.
Here's a fun snippet from Thor Nystrom:
Per PFF, Johnson was 94th percentile in yards after contact per attempt. When Johnson has a head of steam, he’s a speed-to-power locomotive, and his legs will keep churning until they’ve been chopped out from under him. The end of runs are violent, with Johnson using his big shoulder pads as weapons … Johnson will appeal to zone-run offenses looking for a bellcow. I expect Johnson to be exactly that for his new NFL team immediately.
Johnson is about as perfect a fit for the Steelers as you will find. His power style of running and his ability to handle a large workload make him an ideal culture fit in the Steel City. Don't be surprised to see him rise the rankings (both redraft and dynasty) in the coming weeks and months.
Any WR Superstars?
The wideout position is probably my favorite to both scout and analyze. There are so many to choose from each year, and college systems are getting better and better at preparing these players to be ready to contribute right away.
That being said, here's how the top of this class compares to the rest of the wideouts in our Rookie WR Model.

In the history of the model (2018-2025), both Hunter (No. 5) and McMillan (No. 7) crack the top 10. That's pretty impressive given the players on the list.
I'm expecting big things from both of these rookies, but we should certainly keep our expectations realistic. Hunter will work across from Brian Thomas, and McMillan will hope Young can continue to grow and develop as a franchise QB.
Yes, there are other wideouts that have appeal, but I am most excited about the top-end guys from this class.
The 2025 draft class will make its mark on dynasty leagues for years to come. Stay tuned for more dynasty fantasy football rankings updates in the weeks and months ahead.
