Chicago Bears' 2025 Offseason Plan: Protect Caleb Williams
In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Underdog:
The plan for the Bears has been clear. Ben Johnson was hired as head coach after guiding the Lions to one of the top offenses in the NFL the last few seasons. Chicago added several offensive linemen to help protect Caleb Williams.
A New Hope In Chicago
Now, there are no excuses for Williams. In his rookie season, questionable coaching and a porous offensive line made it difficult for Williams to thrive despite throwing only 6 interceptions. He was sacked a league-high 68 times, which was the third most in NFL history. While some of the sacks can be blamed on Williams, the Bears were third in pressure rate allowed and 25th in rushing.
While the flashy moves of skill position players get most of the attention in fantasy, building the offensive line is important. The Bears signed center Drew Dalman and traded for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson.
Williams has a consensus ranking of 15 at quarterback among the Fantasy Life rankers and is QB10 in Underdog best ball drafts. With a strong offensive coach and a bolstered offensive line, the surrounding cast is much better. Can Williams deliver?

We’re In The Era Of Rookie Tight Ends
Two years ago it was Sam LaPorta, last year it was Brock Bowers.
With two consecutive seasons of rookies setting the bar at the tight end position, it’s safe to say we’re in the era of rookie tight ends, after years and years of the position being headlined by seasoned veterans.
What will the 2025 draft bring to the table? For starters, there are two tight ends that have the potential to be massive fantasy football contributors out of the gate.

🤯 Three-Round NFL Mock Draft: Defining Generational Talent
What if the best football player in the NFL Draft isn’t a quarterback? Should a QB-needy team like the Tennessee Titans bypass a two-way star like Travis Hunter with talent so rare he’s being compared to Shohei Ohtani? The quandary is real, especially when a prolific QB like Cam Ward is ripe for the taking first overall and could start right away in Nashville.
Coach Gene Clemons attacks this question early in the first three-round NFL Mock Draft of 2025. Looking at all of the teams’ needs through Day 2 of the draft is a great way to examine team building. For teams that pass on QB early, it’s easy to see which players are available in later rounds to see if that team need can be filled.👇🏼
