Dallas Cowboys Put The Big D In Disappointment During NFL Free Agency

Free agency is a period when most fans are optimistic. There’s a dream where all the added pieces work, and it results in being a contender. The Super Bowl-champion Eagles are a great example.
Other fans watch everyone else unwrapping the ideal gifts while they open the cheapest and undesirable ones.
Another Quiet Dallas Offseason
The latter are Cowboys fans. Once again, the beginning of free agency has been depressing for fans of that star. After Jerry Jones said they were “all in” last season, Dallas did nothing. After clearing $56 million in cap space this year, the Cowboys have made minimal impact with their signings of Javonte Williams, Robert Jones, Jack Sanborn, and Solomon Thomas. They added Kenneth Murray and Kaiir Elam in trades, both disappointing first-round picks.
Williams hasn’t been the same since tearing his ACL, LCL, and posterolateral corner (PLC) in his right knee in 2022. Williams caught 52 of 70 targets last season and could play a role in the passing game. The running back class is deep, and the Cowboys will most likely draft a running back with the possibility of Ashton Jeanty at pick 12.
The Cowboys signed Williams to a one-year, $3 million deal. The Panthers signed Rico Dowdle to the same contract, yet he rushed for 1,079 yards on 235 carries and caught 39 passes for 249 yards.
Dallas hasn’t been a team to spend in free agency and they continue to seek out the cheap free agents. It isn’t the ideal way to keep up with Philadelphia and Washington. At least Cowboys fans can hope for a championship … in fantasy football.

📈 ADPs About To Skyrocket
Free Agency is the first true chapter of the offseason that causes drastic shifts in average draft position (ADP) in early-offseason drafts, mainly in best ball formats.
While the 2025 free agency class pales in comparison to last season’s, there are a handful of players who find themselves on a new team (or the same team, but in a different situation) who should see their draft prices start to rise.
- How high is too high to draft Davante Adams on the Rams?
- Is Justin Fields a league-winning value option at QB?
- Which late-round TE is a screaming value?
Pete Overzet has those answers and more, as he breaks down six players to start drafting NOW before their price gets too expensive. ⬇️

⭐️ A Golden Prospect
Before the NFL Scouting Combine, Matthew Golden was one of three wide receivers looking to make an impression on the NFL community. Though he was the one who kept the quietest profile, he ended up being the one who roared to the front of that trio when he blazed a 4.29 in the 40-yard dash. That was the fastest time among WRs in attendance and No. 8 all-time among wideouts. To say he stepped toward the front of the class of wide receivers getting picked next month is an understatement.
Thor Nystrom dove into Golden’s background and also analyzed the speedy wideout’s game and how it could translate to the NFL. It’s a must-read, as is his entire series.👇🏼
