QB Roulette: Round and round and round they go … Where they stop? Nobody knows!

Step Right Up, It’s The QB Carousel

Nothing quite shakes up an NFL roster’s fantasy impact like swapping shot callers under center. Makes sense, considering no position is more critical to success in all of professional sports. Every offseason offers up a nice handful of opportunities to shake the Etch-A-Sketch for an offensive restart — and this one’s no different.

Remember, this is MY top-5 fantasy quarterback-move wish list. For actual high-IQ detailed charts and more grounded, data-backed assertions, check out my guy Ian Hartitz’s recent piece—if you’re into that sort of thing.

HERE WE GO … MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER, MAKE ME A MATCH!

Sam Darnold, NYJ—Reunited, and it feels so good. Per Adam Schefter, the Vikings “officially will not be tagging Sam Darnold." That little glimmer of hope is enough for me to dream on the ultimate revenge tour with a competent coaching staff. A viable QB boosts the entire Jets’ skill room, plus a huge sigh of relief and a WR1 finish from Garrett Wilson.

Kirk Cousins, NYG—Atlanta moves on from Cousins in favor of first-rounder Michael Penix, where Brian Daboll’s just waiting to snatch up anyone to get Malik Nabers the ball. By the way, Nabers just hung a 1,204-receiving-yard season on the ledger with [insert non-descript QB name here] throwing the ball. Nearly two years removed from Achilles’ surgery and fully healed, Cousins reassumes peak powers under center for Big Blue. And that’s not all, the Giants finally add a second playmaker to the squad by signing freshly released veteran Davante Adams

Jameis Winston, TEN—Already fine rolling with QBs providing a thrill a minute and a proclivity for turnovers, Tennessee shocks absolutely no one this offseason. The Titans make sure to acquire the only player posting a higher INT rate than Will Levis with +295 attempts in 2024… Jameis Winston. It won’t help TEN win many games, but rostering Calvin Ridley and Chig Okonkwo is sure going to be fun!

Justin Fields, IND—Supremely gifted physically AND chronic accuracy issues? There’s always room for one more in Indianapolis with that archetype. At least the Colts won’t have to change the playbook much when Anthony Richardson goes down again. Ignore the pass catchers, draft both QBs late, and enjoy the backend QB1 return.

Russell Wilson, LV—Refusing to become a slave to those darn analytics, the Raiders do it their way, aiming for a third straight year without a quarterback boasting a positive EPA/Dropback. Russell Wilson, come on down! Mr. Unlimited won’t move the needle too much in real life, but he will understand the fantasy assignment and force-feed the rock to TE1 Brock Bowers.

The Next De’Von Achane?

Not necessarily, but Virginia Tech RB Bhayshul Tuten matched De’Von Achane’s 40-yard dash time over the weekend, with a 98th-percentile 4.32-second run—the fourth-best time since 2013.

Saying that Tuten was sprinting his way to the top of Thor Nystrom’s list of Combine Risers would be an understatement. Who joins him on that list? And whose draft stock continues to free-fall? 👇

A QB WITH ONE MORE CHANCE TO SALVAGE HIS STOCK

Aaron Jones Headlines The 2025 RB FA Class

Free agency is almost here. Jobs will change, dollars will fly, and we will enjoy it–because what else is a football diehard supposed to do in March?

Today, we're answering the five biggest questions facing the free agent RB class:

  • Who is the most productive RB hitting the open market?
  • Which RB could be poised for much bigger things in a new environment?
  • Is there an RB ready to continue their comeback szn?
  • Which back looks like the wild card of the class?
  • Could someone benefit mightily from an injury discount?

Oh yeah, and Ian Hartitz is also telling Father Time to f*ck right off in regards to one particular veteran RB. Who? Good question! 👇

DON’T LET HIM GO TO THE CHIEFS …

The latest fantasy nuggets, silliness, and NFL gossip from our merry band of football nerds:

👀 The NFL Combine wasn’t ONLY about rookies … the biggest headlines you may have missed.

📝 The rumor mill is spinning … Matthew Berry has the details you won’t find anywhere else.

🤔 The curious case of Travis Hunter … will he be a better NFL WR or CB?

🤝 Cam Ward could learn a thing or two from Jameis Winston. No, seriously.

🧀 Davante Adams is escaping New York. Headed back to an old home?

💰 It pays to win … a ring and $41.2 million sounds like quite the two-month stretch.

🍕 Great to see New York’s finest abroad. Michael Scott would be proud.

❓ Asking a very serious question of Thor Nystrom.
