Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds This Week
Guards To Add in Fantasy Basketball This Week
Vasilije Micic (Charlotte Hornets)
The opportunity is there for Micic. LaMelo Ball has a strained left calf and is out for at least two weeks. Tre Mann would have been the next man up, but he’s out for two to three weeks with a back injury. Micic will start in their absences and has the last two games. He had 9 points and 8 assists in 31 minutes and had 15 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 3 three-pointers and should be added in most leagues. He averaged 15.5 potential assists in the two games, so he should be better in assists, too.
Malik Monk (Sacramento Kings)
Monk was inserted into the starting lineup on Sunday and coach Mike Brown said he will be in the starting lineup moving forward. Monk played 37 minutes and had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and shot 5-for-10 from three-point range.
Malcolm Brogdon (Washington Wizards)
Another mention for Brogdon, who was mentioned last week. He has been starting and could be better if Kyle Kuzma misses more time. Brogdon played a season-high 30 minutes on Saturday as the game stayed competitive against the Bucks. Over the last five games, Brogdon is averaging 18.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.
Forwards To Add in Fantasy Basketball This Week
Julian Champagnie (San Antonio Spurs)
Champagnie has emerged as a steady contributor for the Spurs. He has played at least 31 minutes in five straight games. He is averaging 6.8 three-point attempts per game, connecting on 2.5 per game, and averaging almost 2 steals per game over the last five. He is averaging 12 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Ayo Dosunmu (Chicago Bulls)
Dosunmu has started the last five games and played at least 30 minutes in four of them. He has scored at least 20 points in two of the games. As a starter in eight games, Dosunmu is averaging 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 0.9 steals per game.
Quentin Grimes (Dallas Mavericks)
Grimes has taken advantage of several injuries to get minutes over the last few games. Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, and Naji Marshall have all missed time over the last week, helping Grimes get minutes and shots. If Thompson remains out, Grimes can be a streamer. Grimes has taken at least 13 shots from the field in the last three games and scored 21, 24, and 28 points while averaging five rebounds and shooting 14-for-26 from three-point range.
Centers To Add in Fantasy Basketball This Week
Nick Richards (Charlotte Hornets)
Richards made his return on Saturday after missing almost one month due to injury. He played 25 minutes and had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, and a steal. He began the season with three double-doubles in four games. He is averaging 11.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. The Hornets have been hit hard by injuries in the front court and Richards will see a significant role.
Yves Missi (New Orleans Pelicans)
With all the injuries to the Pelicans, Missi is continuing to get minutes and will benefit with Zion Williamson still out. The rookie has five double-doubles on the season and has come close several times. Over the last 10 games, Missi is averaging 9.9 points, 9 rebounds, almost 1 steal, and 1 block per game.
Players To Drop In Fantasy Basketball This Week
- Trayce Jackson-Davis (Golden State Warriors)
- Alex Caruso (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Fantasy Basketball Trends To Watch Entering Week 7
Hartenstein returns with a bang
The return of Isaiah Hartenstein came at a good time with Chet Holmgren out for a while. Hartenstein is averaging 15.2 points, 13.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 blocks, and shooting 61.1% from the field. The books have been slow to catch up on his props. The points+rebounds prop was 22.5 on Sunday. In five games, Hartenstein has 27, 29, 28, 29 and 32 points+rebounds.
Barnes is ballin'
Welcome back, Scottie Barnes. After struggling in his first two games of the season coming back from injury, Barnes had a great week. He had a double-double in each game and had a triple-double. He was one assist short of a triple-double on Sunday. Barnes averaged 23.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists for the week. Barnes will continue to pile up the stats and is someone to look at for player props anytime he plays.
Pritchard rising
Payton Pritchard has improved his shooting from three-point range and become a reliable player off the bench. He is averaging 27.8 minutes per game and after shooting 38.5% from three-point range last season, Pritchard is at 43.2% and averaging 3.7 treys per game. He is averaging 16 points and 1.1 steals per game and with several Celtics starters in and out of the lineup, Pritchard gets chances to hoist a lot of shots in some games. He scored 20, 29, and 24 points in the last three games.
