No one wants a stagnant roster. It's time to make some moves.

Let’s get into some buyin’, sellin’ and holdin’.

BUY

We're only one week deep, but rest assured there are still moves to be made. Let's see if we can capitalize on the green flags your leaguemates wish they'd seen. Let’s buy:

WR Adonai Mitchell, Indianapolis Colts

Call me a Sheesh-sheep, but I'm all in on Ian Hartitz's Sheesh Report. Baa-Baa, baby!

I'll keep this short and sweet, since you can read Ian's takeaways here

Adonai Mitchell is flying under the radar right now. Your leaguemates aren't batting an eye at his 2 MEASLY YARDS. He's not the Colts' WR1 (hey, Michael Pittman). And he's not even the WR2 when Josh Downs is healthy. But Mitchell arguably left 130-plus yards and the potential for multiple TDs on the field in Week 1.

All I'm saying is this: You know how sometimes when negotiating a trade, we'll ask for a little "something extra on top" to seal the deal? Consider Mitchell the perfect cherry.

RB Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons

Based on Bijan Robinson's rushing attempts (82%), target share (23%) and efficiency, it would seem he's in line for the RB1 season we all knew was on the horizon. It's almost like people who drafted him in the first round knew this might happen…

So how are you going to “buy” him?

Well, in Week 1, Bijan only put up 13.6 pts (0.5 PPR). This feels like it might be your last chance to swoop in with a killer trade offer before the real points start coming in. I repeat: We are not low-balling anyone here. It's time to put on your big boy pants and send a legitimate trade offer — none of that "I send bad trades to get a conversation started" BS.

Locked-in, big-brained fantasy football players (the ones subbed to Fantasy Life, obviously) already know they aren't willing to let go of Bijan. Understandably so. BUT there are those who will, for the right price. Know your league. Pay up, if they'll let you. And GLHF.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions

This is a conditional “buy” situation. You've got to keep in mind that whichever leaguemate has St. Brown in their lineup likely took him with a first-round draft pick and may expect first-round compensation.

But after Week 1, managers are staring at St. Brown's 3 receptions for 13 yards… and they're trying to feverishly convince themselves that everything is going to be fine. Their panic might be to your benefit.

They also witnessed Jameson Williams' monster breakout game (5-121-1) happening right under Amon-Ra's nose. So maybe.. just maybe… they're nervous enough to part ways with 2023's WR3.

But you're not paying quite what you would have a week ago. See if you can strike a deal while the iron is ice f*cking cold.

SELL

TE Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens

A 69% route participation in Week 1? NICE!

But every time I catch myself salivating over Likely’s 9-111-1 stat line, there's a ringing in my ears: “Marrrrkkkk Annddrreewwwwsss”

So how sustainable is this production? That's what it boils down to.

If this type of performance is Likely's ceiling, it’s pretty sweet. But if his floor is rock bottom on weeks when Mark Andrews gets more love, I lean toward letting others pay up for the experience of the future come down (read: let down).

HOWEVER: I won't judge you for holding onto Likely, given the extremely low ADP spent to acquire him in the first place. Even if his fantasy production tapers, it's better than you had hoped for at this point with BAL utilizing both TEs on the field in over half of their snaps. If you've got the brass balls to hold, I respect it.

I'm just asking that you at least hear out what your leaguemates have to offer before shutting them down… Deal?

HOLD

WR Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams

I hope many of you aren't actually considering selling. But the reason Cooper Kupp is a hold this week is because the hot and sexy trade offers will start to roll in soon. And while they might be tempting, I don't want you to let this WR1 slip out of your grip.

Kupp finished as the WR2 (0.5 PPR) in Week 1, only behind Jayden Reed (138 yds, 1 TD). With Puka Nacua out for at least four games, Kupp is going to have to do what he does best and carry the weight of the Rams' passing attack on his shoulders.

Remember, you drafted Kupp in the late fourth. His Week 1 level of output (110 yards, 1 TD) and usage has already surpassed those expectations. Not to mention his additional 105 unrealized air yards in Week 1 (sheesh).

Kupp's been a bounceback candidate all along

Sit back and enjoy the nice draft pick, you awesome sonofab*tch.

WR Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers

Boy was I HIGH on Jordan Love this season. Ranked seventh in passing yards (4,159) and second in passing TDs (32) in 2023, I was thrilled to watch him give everyone the business in 2024.

But now that Love has suffered an MCL sprain and his timetable for return is up in the air (though it's looking more hopeful than originally thought), I guess I'll have to transfer my enthusiasm to his beneficiary: Jayden Reed

I know. I know. It's tempting to sell after such a massive Week 1 performance (4-138-1). Oh right, and he also rushed for a 33-yard TD! But hear me out…

Jayden Reed's PPR scores Weeks 10-18 of 2024:

  • Week 10: 19.4
  • Week 11: 19.2
  • Week 12: 15
  • Week 13: 5.6
  • Week 14: 20.5
  • Week 15: 17.2
  • Week 16: BYE
  • Week 17: 26.9
  • Week 18: 15.2

Sure, Reed won't finish as the WR1 every week, but he's got that dawg in him. And if Love is back sooner than later, I want a piece of the action. So, I'm holding.

RB Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints

There were only four RBs to have multiple carries inside their opponent's 5-yard line in Week 1 — three finishing within the top six at the position (0.5 PPR):

Not bad company for the 8-year veteran in New Orleans, eh? Not only was Kamara happy with new OC Klint Kubiac's fresh play calling, but the entire Saints offense was firing on all cylinders in Week 1 (shoutout Rashid Shaheed!).

Unfortunately, the Saints won't get to face off against the Panthers every week (aww man). But if New Orleans can keep this up, Kamara should continue to find success as one of Kubiac's favorite weapons. And we just might see Kamara breeeeeze right past his offseason ADP.
