Another week down, another week closer to a fantasy championship (I hope for most of you). Of course I have said this before in this waiver wire article, but you're going to have to claw, fight and scratch your way to that title — because Week 13 was not kind to us on the injury front. Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason are on IR and Taysom Hill will miss the rest of 2024 with a torn ACL. Oh yeah, and we have another six teams on a bye this week for a make-or-break Bye-Maggeddon Pt. II.

Before we jump in, I want to point you in the direction of our waiver wire tool, which is an awesome way to visualize what I have below AND take advantage of “wisdom of the crowd”-ing, as you can drop your FAAB bids in and see what other people are thinking of spending!

We can definitely get through this together, so — as always — below are waiver wire names to target in order of preference. All players are below the "40% rostered" mark. Remember, the Ravens, Broncos, Texans, Colts, Patriots and Commanders all have a Week 14 bye. Good luck! And hope to see you here next week!

INJURY ROUNDUP

  • Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence (concussion)
  • Steelers: Calvin Austin (concussion)
  • Commanders: Noah Brown (rib)
  • Saints: Taysom Hill (knee)
  • 49ers: Christian McCaffrey (IR- knee), Jordan Mason (ankle)
  • Ravens: Rashod Bateman (knee)
  • Chargers: Ladd McConkey (knee)
  • Eagles: Dallas Goedert (knee)

FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE ADDS FOR WEEK 13

Isaac Guerendo, RB, 49ers (43% rostered)

Yes, this was a rewrite.

Originally I had Jordan Mason on here as the 49ers running back to target, but we got news on Monday afternoon that San Francisco was not only placing Chirstian McCaffrey on IR, but Mason, as well. This leaves Isaac Guerendo as the next man up. We are so close to the fantasy playoffs you don't need me to tell you that Guerendo is a must-add, just go and get him ASAP. The 49ers also signed former Green Bay Packers running back Patrick Taylor Jr. to a one-year deal earlier this offseason, so he could get mixed in as well.

Russell Wilson, QB, Steelers (35% rostered)

Russell Wilson might mess around and end up being the answer for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a great Week 13 performance, throwing for 414 yards (second-highest single-game total of his career) and three touchdowns. Yeah you read that right — Wilson ended up with a huge 26.86 fantasy point day, which was his highest total since Week 4 of 2022.

The Steelers face the Browns again in Week 14 — if you look at Wilson's last game against them, his 13.8 fantasy points won't excite you, but just remember that it was the Thursday night snow game so the elements should be better this time around.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR, Titans (18% rostered)

I'm sure since Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is being highlighted in this waiver wire article that he won't score a touchdown for you in Week 14, but we must keep things positive. Westbrook-Ikhine set season-bests with 21.1 fantasy points and eight targets in Week 13. The connection between Westbrook-Ikhine and Will Levis looks strong, and the news gets better — the Titans have a favorable schedule the rest of the way: Jaguars, Bengals, Colts, Jaguars again and then they finish the season with the Texans. I can't believe in the year 2024 we are talking about Westbrook-Ikhine being a solid option for the fantasy playoffs, but here we are.

Jeremy McNichols (16% rostered) / Chris Rodriguez (0% rostered), RBs, Commanders

The Commanders placed Austin Ekeler on IR over the weekend, which means that he'll be out another three weeks before he can return to action. We know that this is Brian Robinson's backfield (and he showed us in Week 13), but we always need to have that next man up mentality.

Jeremy McNichols is the running back to target here. He ran the ball six times for 32 yards and is the handcuff you want to prioritize, especially because we've seen Robinson banged up this season. Chris Rodriguez had a solid stat line from Sunday's game, finishing with 13 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown, but he played two snaps in the first three quarters. The Commanders had this game locked up in the fourth quarter and we saw a bit more Rodriguez. Still, in deeper leagues it's not a bad idea to throw a flyer on Rodriguez, but you might find better waiver wire names below.

Juwan Johnson, TE, Saints (3% rostered)

Juwan Johnson had a productive Sunday with season-highs in Utilization Score (7.1), routes (79%), targets (19%) and air yards (21%). Taysom Hill is out for the season and that means Johnson is more of a mid-range TE2 with low-end TE1 upside moving forward.

Adam Thielen (32% rostered) / Xavier Legette (27% rostered), WRs, Panthers

I was really close to adding Bryce Young to this waiver list, but we're not there… yet. Still, I think  we have to give Young and the Panthers their flowers — they almost beat the Chiefs and took the Buccaneers to overtime on Sunday. Adam Thielen led the Panthers with 10 targets in Week 13, locking down eight catches for 99 yards and a touchdown, which led to 23.9 fantasy points.

Xavier Legette has quietly scored the 40th-most fantasy points among wide receivers over the past six weeks, according to PFF. The Panthers are another team with a good schedule during the fantasy playoffs; just be cautious with their Week 14 matchup against the Eagles. If you're facing wide receiver injuries then I like both the Panthers receivers down the stretch when the team plays the Cowboys, Cardinals and Buccaneers from Weeks 15-17.

Will Levis, QB, Titans (12% rostered)

I SAID THIS WEEK WAS GOING TO BE WEIRD, OKAY?! Will Levis has a favorable rest-of-season schedule and with quarterbacks like Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson on bye then you might have to dig deep. Earlier this season you did not want to get near Levis in fantasy, but he has scored 15-plus points in four straight games.

The Titans take on the Jaguars at home in Week 14 before finishing their season facing the Bengals, Colts, Jaguars and Texans. He's worth a look.

Braelon Allen, RB, Jets (32% rostered)

Fantasy managers were holding their breath heading into Week 13 hoping that Breece Hall would be able to suit up — he was able to play but didn't walk away with a huge fantasy day. He scored 6 fantasy points and was a non-factor in the passing game. Hall only notched 61% of the team's offensive snaps and Isaiah Davis was the RB who was more involved in the passing game.

Braelon Allen is THE handcuff to have right now. If Hall's injury pops up again then Allen would be in line for a ton of work, plus the Jets' schedule the rest of the way is nice for their running backs. They take on the Dolphins, Jaguars, Rams and Bills to finish off the fantasy season.

Kimani Vidal, RB, Chargers (16% rostered)

The Chargers placed running back JK Dobbins on IR over the weekend — which means he has to miss another three games (at minimum) before returning. Gus Edwards is over 40% rostered, but Kimani Vidal is worth an add. I don't like the matchup for these Chargers running backs in Week 14 against the Chiefs, but they take on the Buccaneers in Week 15 and the Patriots in Week 17.

You can't add Vidal to your roster and expect to start him right away, unless you're in a desperate spot with the byes this week. However, Vidal has a path to more playing time than some of these other running backs highlighted in this article. He could definitely find himself getting more opportunities if he plays well.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Saints (31% rostered)

A nightmarish season for the Saints continues as the team will be without Taysom Hill for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. What's the big fantasy breakdown here? The ball has to go somewhere. Of course Alvin Kamara will get his, but Marquez Valdes-Scantling is someone you can turn to if you really need help. He had two receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Rams. He has four touchdowns in the last three games, which is definitely volatile, but the Saints are taking on the Giants in Week 14 so he's worth a mention.

Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars (1% rostered)

Time to introduce you to Parker Washington, who scored 24.3 fantasy points in Week 13 and was likely on more benches than not. Trevor Lawrence suffered a brutal concussion in the Jaguars' matchup with the Texans, but not all was lost with Mac Jones. He went 20-of-32 for 235 yards and two touchdowns! Back to Washington, according to the Utilization Report he led the team in targets (29%) and had a 9.7 Utilization Score. Dwain McFarland has upgraded Washington to mid-range WR4 territory, but he should only be used in those deeper formats if you have nowhere else to turn.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Cowboys (10% rostered)

This is a deep play if you need some help this week and rest of the season. Brandin Cooks returned to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving and didn't do too poorly. Sure, he only had three catches for 16 yards against the Giants, but if you look at the glass half full then he not only scored a touchdown and gave fantasy managers 10.7 fantasy points, but he was also targeted seven times.

Oh that doesn't put him on your radar? Alright how's this: the Cowboys take on the Bengals, Panthers and Buccaneers over the next three weeks (I'm choosing to ignore the Eagles in Week 17, absolutely). He has deep flex appeal this week.
