In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by New Era:

I hope everyone is staying vigilant out there today.

Fortunately for you, I’m coming off a nasty stomach bug and have no time for shenanigans (although I was somewhat tempted to write 500 words about Travis Hunter wanting to also be the punter for whoever drafts him).

Instead, I’ve rounded up a handful of headlines from yesterday, and whether or not I believe them or if I’m feeling fooled …

Shane Steichen says Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson will split starting reps in OTAs.

Uh, no duh? Before this team had even signed Jones, they said A-Rich would face a QB competition this year. There is nothing surprising about this, although I agree with Matthew that this entire plan is misguided.

The Steelers view Jaylen Warren as a “starter-capable” player.

I’m feeling FOOLED here. The Steelers had plenty of chances over the years to install Warren as a lead back and never did it. This coaching staff clearly loves a bruiser back, efficiency be damned. Now we enter a draft with a loaded RB class. The Steelers are a virtual lock to draft one and immediately re-install a timeshare with Warren.

Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf had a throwing session at UCLA over the weekend.

You can’t fool me here. Rodgers says he is “still evaluating his decision” as if he has another choice. The game of QB musical chairs has all but stopped this offseason, and now the Steelers and Rodgers are stuck with each other. Put an end to this so we can all move on.

The Jets hint that Breece Hall is no longer a bell-cow back.

I wish I could say I’m feeling fooled, but the writing has been on the wall. Hall is a special talent, but the Jets continued to invest heavily at the RB position even after his breakout. Hall is now a mid-third-round pick in early drafts after being a top-five pick last year, which still feels slightly too rich to me.

COOTERDOODLE WOULD APPROVE THIS SAINTS PICK

Games Are Won In The Trenches

Rashawn Slater, Dion Dawkins, Jonah Williams. What do they all have in common? They’ve made a career (so far) out of protecting the most important player on the field—the quarterback.

Skill-position players get all of the attention, but maintaining stability (and developing strength) in the offensive line is a must for any contending team.

This also has a significant impact on your fantasy teams. Remember C.J. Stroud running for his life all 2024 on his way to a QB28 finish in fantasy points per game (13.7)?

The next crop of on-field anchors will hear their names called at the end of the month, so who are the best options for protection-needy teams? ⬇️

2025 NFL DRAFT OFFENSIVE TACKLE RANKINGS

A Forgotten Tight End to Buy Low

There’s a tight end in Las Vegas that dynasty managers should be paying more attention to, and yes, Brock Bowers is getting more than enough attention.

Remember the 35th pick in the 2023 NFL draft? The same one that led the position as the No. 1 TE in Dwain McFarland’s Rookie Super Model?

With no real future with his current team, a trade seemingly imminent, and a talent profile worth targeting, does this sound like someone you may want to acquire for cheap?

Sam Wallace thinks it may only take a late-round rookie pick … 👀👇
