The NFL Draft is the talk of the town currently, and with good reason. No event has a bigger impact on the NFL landscape. Just look at the Commanders, who have gone from a perennial doormat in the NFC East to a Super Bowl sleeper after drafting Jayden Daniels. And winning Matthew’s eternal gratitude.

A Different Kind Of Game Changer

However, not every team can land a superstar quarterback. Sometimes, you have to settle for whatever you can get in free agency. The Giants might be headed toward that fate. Cam Ward has become a pretty substantial favorite to land with the Titans at No. 1, while rumors are circulating that the Browns will select Shedeur Sanders at No. 2. That leaves the Giants SOL from a quarterback perspective.

Enter Winston. He signed a two-year, $8M deal with the Giants on Friday, which puts him in line to be the team’s starting quarterback in the fall. The team might still look to target a future quarterback later in the draft—someone like Jaxson Dart or Tyler Shough—but those players are much less likely to start right out of the gates.

What does that mean for the Giants’ offense? The big winner is Malik Nabers. Let’s just say that optimism surrounding Nabers has been cranked up to 11 following this signing:

This optimism is warranted. Winston is known for pushing the ball downfield aggressively, and he’s propelled lesser receivers to fantasy superstardom. He was able to make Jerry Jeudy a thing last year with the Browns; Nabers could legitimately enter WR1 overall territory with 17 games from Winston this season. Nabers is currently listed as the WR8 in our consensus rankings, and at a minimum, the Winston signing pushes him into the same tier as WRs like Brian Thomas Jr., Nico Collins, and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The only real concern with Nabers is that the Giants could add Travis Hunter with the third pick in the draft. We’re still not 100% sure how Hunter is going to be utilized in the NFL. He could be a full-time corner and a part-time receiver, but the inverse is also possible. If the Giants draft Hunter and view him as more of a receiver, could he potentially eat into Nabers’ workload? It’s possible, but even in that scenario, the Giants still have minimal other competition for those players. Both players can eat with Winston at quarterback, who averaged 9.2 air yards per attempt last season.

Ultimately, I’m grabbing as much exposure to Nabers as humanly possible, and I’m drafting plenty of shares of Hunter as well. Let’s eat some Ws.

Tyler Warren Goes From QB To Top TE Prospect

To look at Tyler Warren at Penn State, it would seem like he’s been playing tight end forever. Think again. He was a high school quarterback who had offers to play at the Division I level. That changed at Happy Valley.

Thor Nystrom shows how Warren was wowing with his athletic gifts in middle school, and how he’s made his transition to tight end look like a genius move as he takes the next step to the NFL. He also wears the No. 44 as a tribute to a Hall of Famer. Read more about Warren here.👇

Don’t Take A Zero at QB2 When You Can Draft One Of These Players Late

Looking at the entirety of the 17-game NFL season is so important, and getting players who will play every week is vital, especially during the fantasy playoffs. And when talking about a onesie position like QB, it’s good to have more than one option possibly popping off for a winning week.

That’s why Pete Overzet looked down the draft board to find players who could be the second—or third—option at the QB position. It could be young signal-callers still establishing themselves. Maybe a veteran on a new team. Or even rookies who look like they could be playing the entire season so teams can know if they have “their guy.” They’re all here for the taking in the late rounds of best ball drafts.👇
