In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Bud Light:
Things change quickly during the NFL Draft cycle.
And this is particularly true for the QB position in 2025, where an epic game of musical chairs is taking form.
Here’s the latest on the Saints, the Giants, and the top QB prospects …
The Latest QB Rumors Before The NFL Draft
🤔 Is Derek Carr actually injured? Last week, we got the bombshell from the Saints that Derek Carr could miss the entire season with a shoulder injury. The plot thickened yesterday because it sounds like Carr is the one who leaked this news.
The potential implications here are fascinating. Could Carr not be telling the truth about the injury? Is he trying to force a trade because he sees the writing on the wall in New Orleans and doesn’t want to be a bridge QB?
It sounds like it:
It was very hard for me to find anyone in football who said Derek is definitely dealing with serious shoulder injury.

Regardless, one thing is for certain—the Saints will be selecting a quarterback in this draft. The question isn’t if, but rather when … at pick 9? Trading up into late Round 1? Check out Kendall’s breakdown here.
🤔 Will the Giants go QB at 3? Meanwhile, in New York, the Giants are ramping up their due diligence on this QB class. They have private workouts scheduled with Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe, and Tyler Shough.
Similar to the Saints, it’s very clear that the Giants are going to draft a QB next week. The only question is if it is at pick No. 3, at No. 34, or in some trade-up scenario (they have two third-round picks as potential ammo).
The most actionable nugget from this QB maneuvering is that both Jaxson Dart and Milroe are now firmly on the Round 1 radar.
In addition to the Saints and the Giants, the Browns and Steelers are in desperate need of a QB. And this is all before we discuss teams like the Seahawks or Colts, who would be fully justified in drafting a signal caller.
The line on QBs selected in Round 1 is still 2.5 (-475) on DraftKings. I don’t like to toss around the “L” word loosely around here, but let’s just say I think the over there is close to something that rhymes with “clock.”

NFL Rookie RB Rankings: Damien Martinez and Cam Skattebo Jump Up
OK, saying Ashton Jeanty is going to be the first RB off the board in the 2025 NFL Draft is like predicting the sunrise. But who comes after him, and likely Omarion Hampton, who is also getting attention as a first-round draft pick?
Looks like the NFL pendulum is sneaking back in favor of the RB. What is this, the 1980s? Thor Nystrom re-ranks the running back position in what has been widely described as a loaded class. And while Omarion Hampton and Jeaty did not move in these rankings, there are players who moved up and down the ranks. Two players—Damien Martinez and Cam Skattebo—have climbed up. How high did they go? 👇
THIS KING COULD BE A FIND AFTER ROUND 1

From Lost Rookie Season To Late-Round Gem?
Who gave Thor the keys to the newsletter? Seriously, there may not be anyone better to analyze J.J. McCarthy than the man who is a diehard Vikings fan and had a high grade on McCarthy coming out of the NFL Draft.
McCarthy inherits largely the same offensive situation that supported Sam Darnold on the way to 4,319 yards, 35 TDs, and a 66.2 completion rate. Could McCarthy be a find in the latter rounds of 2025 fantasy drafts? ⬇️
