In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Bud Light:

Breece Hall was taken as a top-three running back in fantasy drafts last season and finished No. 17 in points per game in PPR formats. Jets HC Aaron Glenn recently said wide receiver Garrett Wilson is a “dynamic player” and wants to get him the ball “as much as possible.”

That wasn’t the message when it came to Hall.

Glenn said the team has three running backs they are going to utilize as much as possible. The other running backs are Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, so what does this mean for fantasy?

Adam: Hall’s efficiency has declined for two straight seasons. The Jets drafted two running backs last season and only once gave Hall more than 16 carries in a game. The offensive line for the Jets hasn’t helped Hall, who had one 100-yard rushing game last season.

It’s easy to say the Jets were a disaster and it caused Hall to underperform. A new coaching staff could help, and Hall has shown the ability to be a three-down back. The Jets brought in Justin Fields at quarterback, and while running QBs tend to help running backs, Fields is going to take away touchdowns. Fields has rushed for 19 TDs in 50 career games. The consensus rankings on Fantasy Life have Hall at RB14, which is the appropriate price.

Kendall: There are a lot of players we can point to, but the dropoff for Jets superstars Hall and Wilson in fantasy football drafts has to be studied. HC Glenn has made it clear that this will be a run-dominant team with Fields AND their three running backs. No, this is not a dream; we are talking about a potential 1-2-3 punch in the Jets' backfield, which is the worst thing we can think of for fantasy football.

Maybe we need to consider that Hall won't be a bell cow in 2025, which is disappointing. Like Adam said, though, the offensive line has not helped in the slightest—only Titans running backs have averaged fewer yards before contact per carry than the Jets since 2022. He finished 2025 with 1,359 scrimmage yards (14th among RBs) and 8 touchdowns. And the presence of Fields doesn't help matters. Maybe we don't need to read between the lines on this one. It feels like Glenn is telling fantasy managers what they need to know: Hall is going to be a risky pick this season.

Just How Valuable Is The 1.01 In Rookie Drafts?

Look, maybe you aren’t one of us sickos drafting teams in April so the stacking stuff doesn’t apply quite yet. Well, then you should be focusing on making the most out of your dynasty roster with rookie drafts around the corner.

Trading away rookie picks is an inexact science. So much depends on the timing, the incoming class, the specific roster needs across potential trade partners, and the details of any specific trade. It can feel overwhelming and stressful as you worry about getting fair value in return, especially when the term “generational prospect” is thrown around as frequently as it has been with Ashton Jeanty.

It's also important to understand who you are giving up with the 1.01. In a 1QB league, you will be missing out on either Jeanty or Tetairoa McMillan. In a Superflex league, you'll be missing out on either Jeanty, McMillan, or Cam Ward/Shedeur Sanders.

Which players are worth taking a gamble and giving up the 1.01 pick for? Here are five targets worth a thought. 👇
