We're into the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, and the College Football Playoff Championship is almost here, so now feels like a good time to update my 2025 NFL mock draft.

Here are previous versions, in case you're curious.

Over the past six years (since I started submitting mocks in competitions), I’m the No. 2 mocker for accuracy, and I'm a lifetime 484-424 (+102.6 units) betting on the draft.

Updated 2025 NFL Mock Draft

The 2025 NFL draft order is set for the top 24 picks. For the remaining eight, I'm using a combination of consensus odds to win the Super Bowl and my own personal postseason projections.

Every week, you can access my team projections in our Fantasy Life Game Models (accessible with a FantasyLife+ subscription).

Here's my pre-CFB Championship mock, followed by a few general notes.

Borderline Round 1 NFL Draft Prospects

These are the players I currently view as residing on the borderline of Rounds 1-2.

  • OTs Jonah Savaiinaea (Arizona), Josh Conerly (Oregon) & Wyatt Milum (West Virginia)
  • OG Donovan Jackson (Ohio State)
  • EDGEs Landon Jackson (Arkansas), J.T. Tuimoloau (Ohio State), Princely Umanmielen (Mississippi) & Jack Sawyer (Ohio State)
  • DTs Tyleik Williams (Ohio State), Deone Walker (Kentucky), Omarr Norman-Lott (Tennessee), T.J. Sanders (South Carolina), Shemar Turner (Texas A&M) & Alfred Collins (Texas)
  • LB Jihaad Campbell (Alabama)
  • CBs Jahdae Barron (Texas) & Trey Amos (Mississippi)
  • S Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina)

The Perfect 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Here's what I like specifically about this mock.

  • QB Cameron Ward: In the early versions, I had Ward ahead of Shedeur Sanders … but I got moved off that position. In truth, I think they're in the same tier. But for a time I had Sanders as my No. 1 QB. Now, Ward is back atop the board. He's currently -125 at FanDuel to be the No. 1 pick. The Titans are not an ideal landing spot (in my opinion), but I like Ward as the top player selected.

  • WR Tetairoa McMillan: As talented as Travis Hunter is, McMillan might have the better NFL future as a pass catcher. I think he's a legitimate top-five talent, and the Patriots need to get franchise QB Drake Maye a receiver.

  • QB Jalen Milroe: Given that there are four teams who could want a QB in the top 10—Titans, Browns, Giants, and Raiders—I increasingly believe Milroe will go early. His dual-threat skill set makes him a Round 1 talent.

  • TEs & OLs: I think we'll have two TEs, five OTs, and one OG go in Round 1, and I increasingly feel good about the composition and order of these guys.

I like a lot about this iteration.

And yet …

Still Not the Perfect Mock Draft

No mock is perfect. Here are ideas I have for future versions.

  • No CLE QB: With QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) suffering an injury setback, the Browns could look to draft his long-term replacement. But the general sentiment seems to be that they would rather replace him with a veteran instead of a rookie. That might be the case—but I'd like this mock (and class) more if I could find them a rookie. I can't. Until I see them add a potential starter in free agency, I'll feel a little uneasy about not mocking them with a QB.

  • EDGEs & DTs: I think DL is the strength of this class. In terms of prospect talent and positional demand, I can imagine as many as 15 DLs going in Round 1. At the same time, because of the DL depth this year, some EDGEs & especially DTs who might otherwise warrant consideration could fall down the board. I think this mock makes sense—but I also feel that it's light with just 11 DLs.

  • Five WRs: Given what we've seen out of WRs Emeka Egbuka & Isaiah Bond in the CFB Playoff, there's a good chance I'm too high on them in this version—especially Bond. And I also might be too high on WR Luther Burden. By bumping Bond out of my next mock, that will allow me to include an extra defender, which feels like a win. That defender might be …

  • CB Jahdae Barron: He's the one guy I feel like I must make room for in my next mock. With his play in the CFB Playoff, he increasingly feels like a Round 1 talent, so much so that I can imagine him competing to be the No. 2 CB in the class after the combine.

  • RB Ashton Jeanty: Deep down, I'd still like to find a way to get him in the top 10 … but it's almost impossible not to give him to the Cowboys.

Eventually, we'll find the perfect mock.
