The College Football Playoff kicks off soon, so now feels like a good time to update my 2025 NFL mock draft.

In 2024 I was a terrible 38-49 (-10.4 units) thanks largely to a heavy fade of QB Michael Penix, but I was at least the No. 5 mocker.
I plan to do more draft content moving forward, so be sure regularly to check out our Fantasy Life NFL Draft Hub, where you can see my NFL prospect big board, Thor Nystrom's first mock of the season, and his early thoughts on the top of the draft board at each skill position.

Player Notes On Updated 2025 NFL Mock Draft
1.01: Giants - QB Shedeur Sanders (Colorado)
Sanders is now a -200 favorite to go No. 1 (FanDuel).
1.02: Raiders - QB Cameron Ward (Miami)
Ward just won the Davey O'Brien Award as college football's top quarterback after passing for 4,000-plus yards and totaling a nation-best 36 TDs through the air.
1.03: Patriots - WR Travis Hunter (Colorado)
The dude just won the Heisman Trophy for his all-around two-way play and the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver. Whether Hunter plays primarily at WR or CB, the Pats will find a use for him.
1.04: Browns - QB Jalen Milroe (Alabama)
The Browns can't possibly go into 2025 with QB Deshaun Watson as the starter, right?
1.05: Panthers - EDGE Abdul Carter (Penn State)
In Carter, the Panthers hope they find a long-term replacement for Brian Burns, whom the team traded away this past offseason.
1.06: Titans - WR Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona)
McMillan is big (6'5" and 212 lbs.), pedigreed (four recruitment stars), and productive (1,319 yards receiving in 12 games). He might be a better pass catcher than Travis Hunter.
1.07: Jaguars - WR Luther Burden (Missouri)
While Burden underwhelmed this season with 61-676-6 receiving and 9–115-2 rushing in 12 games, he flashed with 86-1,212-9 receiving the year prior.
1.08: Bears - OT Will Campbell (LSU)
The Bears need OL help to protect rookie QB Caleb Williams.
1.09: Jets - DT Mason Graham (Michigan)
The Jets get a unanimous All-American to man the middle of the DL alongside All-Pro DT Quinnen Williams.
1.10: Saints - EDGE Mykel Williams (Georgia)
The Saints need to rebuild their defense, and in Williams, they get a potential cornerstone with youth (20 years old) and pedigree (five recruitment stars).
Positional Analysis of 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Quarterbacks
Last mock, I had only two QBs in Round 1. Now, I've pivoted back to three. There are too many teams that need a QB—Browns, Titans, and Jets, for example—for just two to wind up in the top 32.
Running Backs
Ashton Jeanty—winner of the 2024 Doak Walker Award as the top back in college football—feels destined to be a Cowboy.
Wide Receivers
For the second consecutive mock, I have just four WRs in Round 1. It's hard to have more than that if I also want to have three QBs and two TEs.
Tight Ends
With the Chargers moving ahead of the Broncos in draft order, Colston Loveland (Michigan) reclaims his spot as the No. 1 TE in the class ahead of Tyler Warren (Penn State).
The Chargers need a TE, and when choosing between the two top-tier options, I can imagine HC Jim Harbaugh drafting the player he recruited to and coached at Michigan.
And I think that would be fine with Broncos HC Sean Payton, who could prefer the John Mackey Award-winning Warren anyway thanks to his all-around Taysom Hill-esque ability (88-1,062-6 receiving, 23-191-4 rushing in 13 games ).
