Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Where Will Rodgers Sign in NFL Free Agency? Steelers, Giants, Vikings Possible
What would an NFL free agency period be at this point without an Aaron Rodgers story? As we hit Day Four of one of the biggest weeks of the NFL offseason, Rodgers is still unsigned, he is still undecided about his future (insert shocked face), and no one knows what the hell he is going to do.
Some men prefer Napalm, but Rodgers prefers the smell of keeping the entire NFL world on edge in the morning.
Anyway, here is where we currently stand with Rodgers.
Will Aaron Rodgers Sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers?
The Steelers have reportedly made their (final?) offer to Rodgers and are now just waiting for Rodgers to make a decision.
It’s unknown exactly what the Pittsburgh offer is, but there have been rumors of a $45M per year. And yes, that is a lot of money for 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers coming off the worst season of his career.
Rodgers would likely be guaranteed a starting role in Pittsburgh, who have cut ties with Russell Wilson AND Justin Fields this offseason. The Steelers also just brought back Mason Rudolph on a two-year 8M deal, but it’s expected that he’s simply there to back up whoever they end up signing.
One thing is certain: if the Steelers end up whiffing on Rodgers, there will be some panic in the streets of Pittsburgh (and there may be some if they do sign him as well). As of now, it is essentially mimicking Tom Hardy’s Bane from The Dark Knight Rises and keeping the entire city hostage.
Let’s hope it ends better for them than it did for Hines Ward and the Gotham Rogues.

Aaron Rodgers Is Rumored To Have An Offer From The Giants
It’s also being reported that the Giants have made a significant offer to Rodgers, again, in the vicinity of 2 years and $90M.
The Giants have the number three pick in the draft, but with the Titans honing in on Cam Ward, who is now as low as -320 on several sportsbooks to go number one, New York may end up losing out on a franchise starter and walking away with a quarterback from the draft.
Via the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants have reportedly told Rodgers that they “want him to be their guy."
Given what happened to Kirk Cousins in Atlanta last season, who signed a big deal with the Falcons in free agency and then watched in horror as they picked his predecessor at number 8, Rodgers may have cold feet about committing to New York, who holds the number 3 overall pick.
Will Rodgers Go To The Vikings And Follow The Brett Favre Storyline?
Via The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Vikings are debating making an offer or bringing in Rodgers, who would presumably act as the mentor for J.J. McCarthy, and a high-level insurance option should McCarthy struggle or endure more injury issues.
The Vikings would be Rodgers’ best bet at getting to the Super Bowl, as they have been loading up on the O-Line and defense in free agency.
You have to wonder if the chance for another ring will sway Rodgers over getting substantially more money and playing time in Pittsburgh or New York.
Rodgers is currently looking to the ocean for answers (in Australia)
You can’t make this stuff. You know, somewhere, Ben Affleck is having a proud Dad moment.
What would be the best Landing Spot for Aaron Rodgers?
Rodgers needs to escape New York
There is zero upside (outside of financial incentives) for Rodgers to sign with the Giants. He’ll be entering a division with Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels and having to face off against two perennial NFC powerhouses in Washington and Philadelphia twice a season.
The Giants just aren’t in a spot to compete yet, and their O-Line is poorly equipped to handle protecting a 41-year-old pocket passer. Via Pro Football Focus, they were 28th (38.4%) in overall pressure rate last season.
Hard to see Rodgers excelling against the likes of Micah Parsons and the vaunted Eagles D-Line with that kind of protection.
The Steelers' opportunity could be his best shot at redemption
Pittsburgh was actually worse than New York in pass protection last year (38.6% pressure rate, 29th in the NFL), so there are similar issues to worry about if he signs with the Steelers. However, they don’t have as tough a division to navigate. The Browns are in full rebuild mode, and the Bengals have lost the offseason (again).
It’s possible Rodgers have a better chance of overcoming those O-Line issues with Pittsburgh.
I’d also rate the Steelers ahead of the Giants simply because Mike Tomlin always finds a way to produce a playoff berth, and once Rodgers gets into the postseason, it would at least give him a chance to go out with a fairy-tale ending.
Having guys like DK Metcalf and George Pickens to throw up jump balls to all season is not a bad thing, either.
The Vikings make the most sense (and could be the reason this is taking so long)
The Vikings are loading up to be serious Super Bowl contenders in 2025-26. Their additions of Ryan Kelly and Will Fries to an O-Line, which also gets back Christian Darrisaw next year, means they’ll have a shot at being a top-five O-Line.
They also have one of the best head coaches in the league, Kevin O’Connell. Rodgers wouldn’t be guaranteed the starting job given JJ McCarthy is there but given the rate QBs have been getting injured of late – and McCarthy’s overall lack of experience – Rodgers would still be a favorite to play an important role at some point.
Will Aaron Rodgers Retire?
There are endless possibilities for Rodgers if he retires.
As much as I have loved watching Aaron Rodgers play football, at this point, it may actually be more fun to see what he does as an NFL retiree.
Here are the best non-football Aaron Rodgers Landing spots.
1. Podcast
What kind of crazy stuff would we hear on an Aaron Rodgers podcast? Conspiracies? Aliens? Political takes?
Rodgers would have a chance to be a pretty influential podcaster if he so chose, as his takes would likely attract fans and people who can’t stand him alike.
I’m not sure if this would be the best option for society in general, but Rodgers would likely smash it out of the park here from a financial standpoint.
2. Open an Ayahuasca Dispensary
If you watched Rodgers’ documentary on Netflix, “Enigma”, then you know he’s big into psychotropic drugs and credits them for helping him play into his 40s. He has attended multiple ayahuasca retreats in Peru and Costa Rica.
Becoming an advocate for these alternative medicines would be right up his alley. To be honest, this could actually be a really cool second career for Rodgers. His voice would carry a lot of weight in the space and could help advance research in this area.
3. Fore!
I mean, if Tony Romo can make a little run on the PGA TOUR, why not Rodgers? Actually, would Rodgers be a better fit for another Tour?

Seriously, if he wanted to stay in competitive sports for a bit, why not finish DFL in some pro golf events for a year or two? Sadly, I can’t put this option at less than 1%.
4. Presidential Run
Rodgers was picked to be Vice President by RFK Jr. back in early 2024. Who says he won’t enter the political arena at some point?
He has zero credentials, but, again, the entertainment factor would likely be off the hook
5. Settle down and raise a family
Boring, but let’s be honest: it would be nice to see him find some peace and get out of the spotlight for a bit.
