Tier 2 – Justin Herbert

Keenan Allen (hamstring) and Mike Williams (ankle) were full practice participants on Friday. While both remain questionable, Williams said he should play, and Allen said it’s up to the staff, but his hamstring feels great.

Herbert has had his top two options on the field together for only 27 pass plays in 2022. However, if both can go on Sunday Night in a tilt against the Chiefs, Herbert has QB1 overall upside.

Herbert is a mid-range QB1 who climbs above Dak Prescott and Joe Burrow with the positive news.

QB Notes & Movers:

  • Tier 3 – Aaron Rodgers has two or more TD passes in seven out of ten games. Last week, he had his first 3-TD performance thanks to Christian Watson, who adds big-play ability to the passing attack. The Titans are a pass-funnel defense, allowing the second-fewest rushing yards per game (84.1) but the second-most via the air (288) in non-overtime play. Rodgers ranks two spots ahead of expert consensus as a low-end QB1.

Tier 3 – David Montgomery

Montgomery is in line for more touches with Khalil Herbert on the IR. Herbert averaged 11.3 rushing attempts per game in contests where both backs played.

The Bears are a run-first team, opting for the ground game no matter the game script:

  • Trailing by four-plus points: 48% (1st)
  • Within three points: 48% (5th)
  • Leading by four-plus points: 71% (2nd)

Montgomery hasn't been very good this season, but he is likely looking at 20-plus opportunities per game. With teams having to account for Justin Fields more than ever, he should see some large running lanes.

The Falcons allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game on the ground in non-overtime play at 19.3.

Vegas loves this game (50-point total), and the Bears carry a top-eight team total.

Montgomery ranks six spots ahead of industry consensus and is a top-12 RB.

Tier 4 – Brian Robinson Jr.

Robinson and the Commanders are three-point favorites at home against the worst rushing defense in the NFL in the Texans. On plays where Washington has led or been within three points, Robinson has a 66% rush share. The rookie has collected 50% or more of the rushing attempts in four of six starts.

He hasn’t been efficient, at 3.3 yards per attempt, but Ron Rivera and staff have stuck with him. In the right situations, he has 20-plus touch upside, as we saw against the Eagles when he registered 26 totes for 86 yards and a TD.

Houston allows the most rushing attempts (34) and yards (180) per game in non-overtime play.

Robinson is a low-end RB2 option and ranks slightly above consensus.

Tier 5 – Elijah Mitchell

Most of the fantasy community presumed Mitchell would be handcuff material upon his return, given the arrival of Christian McCaffrey. Yet, that wasn’t the case – the second-year back handled 44% of the rushing attempts in Week 10 against the Chargers.

WeekSnapsRush AttRoutesTargetsTPRRSDD Snapsi5 AttLDD Snaps2MIN SnapsPPR
1035%44%17%4%20%45%33%0%0%9.8

Mitchell was involved from the very first drive and was the primary ball carrier when the score was within three points (79%), while McCaffrey handled more work when trailing (61%).

The 49ers run the ball the third-most in close game scripts and rank ninth in regulation rushing attempts per game on the season. Mitchell will have some value down the stretch if Kyle Shanahan is committed to a rotational backfield.

This week is a solid spot, with the 49ers favored by eight points over the Cardinals, who have the fifth-worst PFF run defense grade.

Mitchell is a mid-range RB3.

Additional RB Notes & Movers:

  • Tier 1 – Jonathan Taylor took over the passing downs in Week 10 and is now an every-down back. The Eagles have allowed 144 yards per game in non-overtime play over the last four weeks. Their run defense is surprisingly suspect against teams willing to remain committed, which fits the Colts' profile. Taylor offers RB1 overall potential in Week 11.
  • Tier 2 – Dalvin Cook has an 83% snap share since Week 6, making him one of a handful of backs in a proper every-down role. He has three 23-plus point outings in his last five games, and opponents must attack the Dallas defense on the ground to offset the pass rush. The Cowboys have the seventh-worst PFF run defense grade. Cook ranks three spots ahead of consensus as my RB7.
  • Tier 3 – James Conner experienced utilization euphoria in Week 10, and Arizona released Eno Benjamin. According to PFF grades, the 49ers have the fourth-toughest run defense, and the Cardinals are eight-point underdogs – so it won’t be easy. However, his newfound role moves him back into RB2 territory.

Tier 1 – CeeDee Lamb

Lamb erupted for the No. 1 WR finish last week, but as the Fantasy Life audience knows, his underlying utilization has been elite all season.

YTD97%28%33%11.141%15%29%37%17.2

Of WRs with at least 200 routes, Lamb ranks No. 1 in target share at 33% and is eight in yards per route run (YPRR) at 2.41.

The Cowboys are maximizing their top option by scheming play-action targets on 37% of his looks – a 12 percentage-point advantage over the average NFL WR – and keeping him in the slot on 59% of routes. Over the last three seasons, a play-action target is worth 18% more in PPR points than a non-play-action target.

This weekend, the Cowboys face a Vikings team allowing 59.9 points per game to pass catchers in non-regulation play – the seventh-most. Additionally, the game could be a shootout in a contest with the second-best game total.

Lamb is in a SMASH spot as a top-three WR in Week 11.

Tier 2 – Tee Higgins

The Bengals are hopeful to have Ja’Marr Chase back next week. That leaves Higgins with another opportunity to operate as the clear-cut WR1 against the Steelers.

The third-year WR has a 25%-plus target share in four out of eight games when playing at least 50% of the snaps this season. He averages 15.8 points per game in those healthy contests, three points higher than his deflated 12.8, thanks to two games where he left with an injury.

The Steelers allow the eighth-most points to pass catchers in regulation play and aren’t healthy in the secondary.

Higgins is a top-10 option in Week 11.

Tier 3 – Kadarius Toney

Toney delivered 19 fantasy points on an anemic 41% route participation last weekend.

It was a tad discouraging that he didn’t play more with Mecole Hardman out and JuJu Smith-Schuster injured in the first half. However, his 29% targets per route run (TPRR) was in line with what we saw in Week 9 (33%) and in his rookie campaign (26%). The second-year WR is dripping with target-earning talent.

Justin Watson bested Toney in route participation (73%) last week, but we could easily see that number flip. Even his future hall-of-fame teammate can’t believe the Giants let him get away.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling will also try to earn more looks but he hasn’t been able to step his game up as many hoped. His 12% TPRR isn’t even WR5 material in a historical fantasy context.

Toney is a mid-range WR2 who could post a top-six finish if he plays an every-down role.

Additional WR Notes & Movers:

  • Tier 1 – A.J. Brown is dominating with a 28% target share (7th) and a 2.73 YPRR (5th), and now Dallas Goedert is out for at least four games. Look for the Eagles' passing attack to condense further around Brown and DeVonta SmithBrown is a top-six WR this weekend.
  • Tier 2 – Mike Williams practiced on Wednesday. The Chargers are in a need-to-win situation against a Chiefs’ defense that allows the second-most points (64.7) to pass catchers in non-overtime play. Williams immediately slots in as a top-10 option.
  • Tier 2 – Terry McLaurin had a rough start to the year, but he has blossomed with Taylor Heinicke under center, who is on tap for another start. With Heinicke, McLaurin has target shares of 26%, 28%, 32%, and 44%. The fourth-year WR faces PFF’s worst-graded coverage unit over the last four games in Houston. McLaurin is a top-12 option.
  • Tier 2 – Courtland Sutton delivered a 28% target share last weekend, with Jerry Jeudy knocked out of the game early. It has been a while since fantasy managers could trust Sutton, but he should see plenty of opportunity against the Raiders’ last-place EPA pass defense. If Jeudy is out, Sutton is a high-end WR2.
  • Tier 2 – DeVonta Smith will have an opportunity to up his 24% target share with Dallas Goedert sidelined. The second-year WR is due for a blowup game and is a high-end WR2.
  • Tier 3 – Parris Campbell has 29 targets and averages 20.8 points in his last three games with Matt Ryan. The matchup against the Eagles isn’t easy, but Campbell is insulated by playing from the slot (78%) and collecting targets underneath (5.2 aDOT). The former Ohio State product ranks 15 spots ahead of consensus as a low-end WR2.
  • Tier 3 – Rondale Moore is on a bender with 30% and 37% target shares over the last two games. We could see Marquise Brown return, but Zach Ertz is out for the season. Moore has three consecutive top-16 finishes and is a top-24 option this week.
  • Tier 3 – Christian Watson exploded onto the scene last weekend with a 42% target share that led to four receptions, 104 yards, and three TDs against the Cowboys. While that effort will be hard to top, Watson has the juice the Packers' offense has been missing. The Titans allow the most fantasy points to pass catchers per game (65) in non-overtime play. Watson is a high-end WR3 with WR1 upside.
  • Tier 5 – Joshua Palmer registered two top-24 finishes, with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams out, but both are trending towards a return this weekend. The second-year WR returns to handcuff status – his 16% TPRR and 1.22 YPRR are far below even WR5 standards. He is no longer a must-hold if your roster has pressing needs elsewhere. Palmer is a low-end WR4 this weekend, but only due to byes and the chance Allen or Williams isn’t 100%.

Tier 2 – Dalton Schultz

Schultz appears to be healthy after struggling with a knee injury for the first half of the season. He has come on strong with three consecutive 20%-plus target share outings.

The route participation hasn’t quite returned to his Week 1 and 2 levels, but if it does, he has top-three upside the rest of the way.

Schultz has a great matchup against a Vikings defense that allows 59.9 points to pass catchers – the seventh-most.

The veteran ranks two spots ahead of consensus and is a top-three TE.

Additional TE Notes & Movers:

  • Tier 2 – T.J. Hockenson has 19 targets in two games with Minnesota. That is his highest two-game total this season. The Vikings have a potential shootout on their hands against the Cowboys. Hockenson is a mid-range TE1.
  • Tier 3 – Greg Dulcich has an 81% route participation over his first four games and a 16% TPRR. He has eclipsed a 20% target share in two games and could be in for more looks with Jerry Jeudy questionable and KJ Hamler out for Week 11. In a consolidated attack, Dulcich could come through in a big way against a Raiders defense allowing the sixth-most points to pass catchers. The rookie is a mid-range TE1.
  • Tier 3 – David Njoku is questionable (ankle) after two limited practices to finish the week but says he is ready to play. The former first-round draft pick has a career-high 21% TPRR and 2.14 yards per route run (YPRR). However, high-ankle sprains can linger, which keeps him from rejoining the top-six options this weekend. Njoku is a low-end TE1 for Week 11.
