Week 6 Waiver Targets

I'll be using Yahoo's "percentage rostered" data. Players are listed in order of priority by position. Only players who are available in at least 75% percent of leagues are considered. (In most situations)

These players are rostered in most leagues, but would be priority adds over anyone mentioned in this column if available in your league.

  • Kenneth Walker III (Available in 55% of leagues)
  • Rachaad White (Available in 66% of leagues)

If either of these players are on your waiver wire, go run and pick them up. Kenneth Walker is worth all of your remaining Faab, and Rachaad White may be the most valuable handcuff in the league right now.

Rondale Moore

  • Available in 82% of leagues

In his second game of the season, WR Rondale Moore posted an efficient line of 7 catches for 68 yards

He was No. 3 on the team in targets (8), but the Cardinals offer A) an explosive enough offense to support multiple fantasy options and B) an average enough defense to keep them in neutral or negative game scripts. Moore’s talent profile and usage (63+ snaps in consecutive weeks per PFF) make him a must-add.

FAAB: 25%

Alec Pierce

  • Available in 92% of leagues

Rookie WR Alec Pierce is turning some heads.

Despite the poor quality of the Thursday night game, Pierce led the Colts in targets (9), receptions (8), and receiving yards (81). He played a season-high 47 snaps in Week 5 (PFF) and topped 60 receiving yards for the third straight game. If WR Michael Pittman Jr. continues to draw primary coverage, Pierce could be a favorite target for QB Matt Ryan.

FAAB: 20%

DeeJay Dallas

  • Available in 100% of leagues

Injuries suck. There’s no other way around it. RB Rashaad Penny suffered a broken fibula and will miss the rest of the season. The Seahawks now turn to rookie RB Kenneth Walker III as the primary backfield option, but RB DeeJay Dallas should see an uptick in work as well. Dallas has had an uninspiring career thus far, but volume and opportunity are king for RBs.

It’s also worth noting that RB Travis Homer is eligible to return from IR on October 30th at the earliest.

FAAB: 15%

Tevin Coleman

  • Available in 100% of leagues

RB Tevin Coleman has returned to fantasy relevance in a familiar place. The veteran has experience in this offensive system and now appears to be locked into the RB2 role behind RB Jeff Wilson (18 touches). Coleman (11 touches) scored twice in Week 5 and figures to remain integral to the 49ers offensive attack.

FAAB: 15%

Additional Waiver Targets

Khalil Shakir

  • Available in 98% of leagues

Absences by WRs Jamison Crowder (ankle) and Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) paved the way for rookie WR Khalil Shakir to score his first NFL TD in a Week 5 blowout victory. Shakir also saw 44 snaps (PFF), significantly more than his previous high of 24.

While Crowder will miss the rest of the season, McKenzie’s eventual return will crowd the WR room. Still, Shakir is making the most of his chances on this high-powered offense and is worth a stash.

FAAB: 10%

Eno Benjamin

  • Available in 91% of leagues

RB Eno Benjamin tied season-high marks in rushing attempts (8), targets (4), and receptions (3) in a Week 5 loss to the Eagles. He also scored his first TD of the season.

Benjamin has been a change-of-pace option to RB James Conner this season, but his uptick in touches, and pass-catching prowess, inches him into deeper league flex territory. He’s a must-add if you roster Conner.

FAAB: 10%

Darius Slayton

  • Available in 100% of leagues

The New York Giants are 4-1.

That isn’t a typo.

They handled the Packers across the pond, and Brian Daboll is looking like a strong candidate for Coach of the Year.

WR Darius Slayton took charge of a deleted receiving corps by hauling in six receptions for 79 yards. He posted an impressive 26% target share and 36% receiving yards share. If the Giants' offense continues to lack playmakers, Slayton could be in line for additional opportunities.

FAAB: 7%

Cade Otton

  • Available in 98% of leagues

Veteran TE Cameron Brate (concussion) missed Week 5, which paved the way for rookie TE Cade Otton to have his best game to date. The Buccaneers were without WR Julio Jones as well, but even with an otherwise full complement of weapons, Otton earned seven targets.

Keep an eye on Brate’s status in the coming days, but Otton could be worth a stash.

Marquez Callaway

Marquez Callaway

  • Available in 99% of leagues

The Saints WR room is looking bleak. WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) did not play this weekend, and rookie WR Chris Olave left with a concussion. Veteran WR Marquez Callaway finished last season with just under 700 receiving yards and six TDs and figures to assume a larger role if any of the aforementioned wideouts are unavailable next week.

FAAB: 3%

Dyami Brown

  • Available in 100% of leagues

In the absence of rookie WR Jahan Dotson (hamstring), sophomore WR Dyami Brown exploded to the tune of 105 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The box score looks great, but the underlying metrics (two receptions, No. 4 on the team in targets) aren’t ideal.

Brown likely has a slight boost in value as long as Dotson remains sidelined with his injury, but it would not be wise to expect this level of production each week.

FAAB: 3%

Olamide Zaccheaus

  • Available in 100% of leagues

WR Olamide Zaccheaus has at least 49 (almost 50) receiving yards or a TD in each game this season. It’s modest production at best, but with an overall lack of offensive firepower in Atlanta, that type of consistency has appeal in deeper leagues.

FAAB: 3%

Deon Jackson

  • Available in 99% of leagues

Sophomore RB Deon Jackson was one of the lone bright spots for the Colts on Thursday night. In the absence of RBs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion), Jackson tallied 91 yards on 17 touches. If Taylor and/or Hines remain limited next week, Jackson could be worthy of a spot in your lineup

FAAB: 3%

Trent Sherfield

  • Available in 100% of leagues

WR Tyreek Hill, already dealing with a quad injury, was seen leaving his Week 5 matchup wearing a walking boot after reportedly getting stepped on. Fellow WR Trent Sherfield figures to be the next man up and has averaged 31 snaps/game this season (PFF). WR Cedrick Wilson is seeing just 14 snaps/game (PFF). Regardless, Sherfield has just one game with more than two catches and 10 receiving yards, so he’s a speculative stash whose value is tied to Hill’s health.

Jaylen Warren

  • Available in 92% of leagues

Rookie QB Kenny Pickett got his 1st career start, and rookie RB Jaylen Warren saw season-best marks in rushing attempts (5), targets (5), and receptions (4).

The Steelers were blown out by the Bills, and the negative game script rendered the rushing attack useless. Even so, Warren saw more targets and receptions than RB Najee Harris. Warren remains a handcuff as another tough battle awaits next week against Tampa Bay.

FAAB: 1%

Dontrell Hilliard

  • Available in 86% of leagues

In three of his four games, RB Dontrell Hilliard has at least four targets and is averaging one receiving TD per game in those three contests.

RB Derrick Henry is the unquestioned bell cow and has five rushing TDs over his last four games.

The Titans are on bye next week, so Hilliard should only be stashed if you have ample bench space and/or roster Henry.

QB Streamers for Week 6

Marcus Mariota

  • Available in 84% of leagues

QB Marcus Mariota is the discount Lamar Jackson/Jalen Hurts, just with fewer weapons. QBs that add value with their legs are sought after in fantasy. This makes Mariota the ideal streaming option or bye week fill-in. He has at least 19 fantasy points in four of five games.

FAAB: 3%

Jacoby Brissett

  • Available in 94% of leagues

Despite the offense running through RBs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, QB Jacoby Brissett is a serviceable streaming option. He’s topped 220 passing yards in each of the last four games. He also has 30+ passing attempts in four of five games and 30+ rushing yards or a rushing TD in three of his last four.

Defense Streamer for Week 6

New York Jets

  • Available in 98% of leagues

It seems odd to recommend a team defense that faces QB Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay next week. However, this isn’t the same Packers team that we're used to seeing, and the Jets' defense is playing well.

This season, the Jets have forced nine turnovers, with at least one coming in each game. The Packers look dysfunctional on both sides of the ball, and the opportunistic Jets defense could have value for your fantasy team.

Players to Stash

Desmond Ridder / Sam Howell

  • Available in 100% of leagues

Rookie QBs Desmond Ridder (Falcons) and Sam Howell (Commanders) are looking more likely to see the field before the season ends as the weeks go by.

We’ve already seen the Steelers move on from QB Mitch Trubisky in favor of their rookie QB Kenny Pickett. However, Pickett was a Round 1 selection, while Ridder (Round 3) and Howell (Round 5) went much later. Still, as their poor play continues, these teams are likely to explore their options to see what they have. If you have the space, it might be worth stashing one of them before their value increases.
