It is time to make those tough lineup decisions for Week 13 of the fantasy football season.

Below, you’ll find positional rankings, player analysis, team totals and spreads for every game on the slate.

Notes:

  • Players are now tiered across all positions (RB, WR and TE) to help with flex decisions in larger formats. Because of this, TEs might not have a player deserving of Tier 1 compared to RBs and WRs.
  • Defensive yards and TDs allowed exclude overtime play.
  • All references to defensive ranks are for this week (bye Week teams excluded).

Tier 2 – Bijan Robinson

Robinson has 38 rushing attempts and eight targets over the last two games, averaging 23 opportunities — fueling two top-12 fantasy finishes.

There is a chance Arthur Smith has finally realized that getting the ball to your best players typically aligns with the team goal of winning games. Unfortunately, Robinson’s underlying utilization percentages didn’t align with his increased opportunities in Week 12, with Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson sniping snaps.

Falcons RBs

Ultimately, Week 12 looked much like Robinson’s season averages. That leaves the door open for a prompt rug pull if his touches were driven by game script or the length of drives when he was on the field. However, we have seen coaches base utilization on opportunity counts rather than percentages, which could be the case in Atlanta.

Robinson has given the coaching staff every reason to use him more. The Round 1 NFL selection is among the league leaders in every rushing efficiency metric.

  • Yards per attempt: 5.0 (7 of 55 RBs with 60 attempts)
  • Yards after contact per attempt: 3.15 (11 of 55)
  • 10-plus yard rushing attempts: 16.3% (4 of 55)
  • Missed tackles forced per attempt: 24.1% (7 of 55)

If Robinson gets to 20-plus opportunities this weekend, he could have a monster outing in a matchup against a Jets defense allowing the second-most rushing yards per game (140) on the Week 13 slate.

Robinson is my RB8 and No. 13 overall player.

Tier 2 – Rachaad White

White averages 19.3 fantasy points per game over his last four outings, and his role is as robust as ever. The second-year back rarely leaves the field as a rusher or receiver, averaging a 70% rushing attempt share and 68% route participation since Week 9.

Rachaad White

White hasn’t reached the heights of the elite passing-down backs that push toward a 20% target share, but he has been efficient with a 1.29 YPRR — a mark that has been RB1-worthy over the last three seasons.

The second-year RB hasn’t been efficient on the ground (3.6 yards per attempt), but the Buccaneers get a juicy matchup as 5.5-point favorites against the Panthers. Carolina has been steamrolled for 125 yards and 1.64 TDs per contest on the ground. White has a shot at his second-consecutive 100-yard rushing game and offers multiple-TD upside.

White is a SMASH play as my RB10 and a top-15 flex play in Week 13.

Tier 2 – Derrick Henry

Henry is averaging 13.7 fantasy points per game — on pace for his worst fantasy season since taking over the lead role in the Titans backfield in 2019. The eighth-year back is no longer the 5-plus yard per carry (YPC) beast we once knew. However, his 4.2 YPC ranks 20th out of 55 backs with at least 60 attempts in 2023.

In Week 12, in a game where the Titans never trailed by more than three points, we saw King Henry get back on track with a 21-point performance on 18 attempts — including two TDs. Game scripts have been a massive factor for Henry, averaging 17.3 points in games where the Titans have trailed by four-plus points on less than 5% of plays.

This weekend, the Titans are only one-point dogs to the Colts, who cough up the second-most fantasy points per game on the ground (21). This matchup is precisely the sort of game where the Big Dog could keep things rolling for fantasy managers.

Henry currently projects for 68 rushing yards in the Fantasy Life Projections — higher than his Underdog Pick’em total of 60.5.

Henry UPGRADES to top-12 RB status and is a top-20 play on the slate.

Tier 2 – Isiah Pacheco

Pacheco has operated as the primary early-down back for most of the season, but we saw him step into the passing-down role with Jerick McKinnon (groin) out in Week 12. Pacheco registered season-highs in routes (68%) and tied his season-high target share (16%) on his way to a whopping 26 fantasy points.

Isiah Pacheco

McKinnon didn’t practice on Wednesday, leaving the door open for another bell-cow outing from Pacheco in a great matchup against the Packers on Sunday Night Football. Kansas City is a TD favorite, and Green Bay allows a mouthwatering 135 yards per game on the ground — the fifth-most.

Pacheco is a top-12 RB and a top-20 play, and if McKinnon is out, he moves up to RB9.

Tier 2 – Zack Moss

With Jonathan Taylor out due to a thumb injury, Moss steps back into the lead role for Week 13. In four games where he received at least 60% of the rushing attempts, Moss averaged 21.3 points from Week 2 to Week 5.

Zack Moss

The Titans are an average defense against the run this season, and Moss gouged them for 165 yards and two rushing TDs on 23 totes in Week 5. Look for the Colts to load up Moss — who leads the team with 4.8 yards per carry.

He should be one of the most-rostered players on DraftKings this weekend, thanks to his $4,300 price tag. That will be some tough chalk to fade.

Moss UPGRADES to borderline RB1 territory as my No. 21 player overall.

Tier 3 – Jaylen Warren

Since Week 8, Warren has handled at least 36% of the rushing attempts in every contest, averaging 14.8 fantasy points. He has averaged 10.6 attempts and 3.6 targets per game during that stretch.

Jaylen Warren

Warren’s 14.2 opportunities per game represent a 32% increase compared to his 10.8 average over the first six games.

Based on utilization data over the last 12 seasons, the average finish for back of Warren’s archetype is RB17, with 14.1 points per game, almost right on the nose, with the second-year back’s 14.8 points over the last four games. Warren is a player that maximizes every touch.

Out of 55 backs with at least 60 carries this season, Warren ranks first in yards per carry (5.8), yards after contact (4.1) and 10-plus yard attempts (19.4%). He faces the sixth-fewest eight-man boxes at 10.8%, which should help keep the big plays coming. And if all of that isn’t enough, he ranks third in targets per route run (28.8%) and fifth in yards per route run (1.61)

This weekend, the Steelers face a Cardinals defense that Kyren Williams torched for 1,384,829 fantasy points in Week 12. Arizona allows the third-most yards (140) and fifth-most TDs rushing per game.

Warren UPGRADES to mid-range RB2 status as my RB19 and is my No. 31 overall player.

Tier 3 – Jaylen Waddle

Waddle has battled a litany of injuries that began in the preseason with an oblique issue. That injury limited him over the first three games, and since then he has missed snaps or games due to a concussion and knee and back injuries.

While he ranks 26th in fantasy points per game (14.0), his average in healthy contests is much stronger. Excluding games with a route participation of less than 80%, the third-year WR averages 9.4 targets (30%) and 17.3 points.

Jaylen Waddle

Waddle is due for a blowup game, and the Commanders could be the spark he needs. Washington plays the most man coverage in the NFL while coughing up the third-most receiving yards (278) and the most TDs (2.3) per contest. Things have been so bad that the Commanders fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio after their blowout loss to the Cowboys.

The Dolphins carry the highest team total of the week at 29.75. If Waddle sees nine targets in this game, it could easily translate to seven catches for 150 yards and two TDs.

Waddle is one of my favorite DFS plays on a WR-challenged slate this weekend. While Tyreek Hill is sure to be the top-owned WR, Waddle could come in at a much lower rostership and saves $2,000 in salary at $7,600 on DraftKings.

Waddle is my WR7 and a top-20 SMASH play against the Commanders.

Tier 3 – Deebo Samuel

Since his return from injury in Week 9, Samuel averages 15.7 points on 5.7 targets and 2.7 rushing attempts per game. While Brandon Aiyuk has stepped into a more significant role, Samuel is still very much a factor in the 49ers' offense.

49ers WRs

This weekend, the 49ers’ pass catchers get a juicy matchup against an Eagles coverage unit, allowing the fourth-most yards (275) and second-most TDs passing. Philadelphia ranks 25th in PFF coverage grade (62.9) but is No. 1 in run defense (79.2).

The Eagles’ defensive line is the strength of the team. And while they aren’t great in coverage, they rank fifth in pass-rush grade (81.0). Right now, they are hurting at the linebacker position with Zach Cunningham and Nakobe Dean, which could force Christian Ellis into a larger role (39.1 PFF coverage grade).

Look for the 49ers to get Samuel involved early and often. San Francisco can slow down the Eagles pass rush and avoid their stout run defense by getting the ball to Samuel on quick passes and screens as an extension of the run game. In the cases where Samuel gets matched up one-on-one inside against the linebackers, we could see major fireworks.

San Francisco offers the fifth-best team total on the slate (24.75), and the rise of Brock Purdy helps keep Samuel in play even if the 49ers distribute the ball evenly. Purdy has reached 250-plus yards in seven of 11 contests in 2023.

Samuel UPGRADES to high-end WR2 status as my WR13.

Tier 3 – Adam Thielen

Week 12 was a forgettable outing for Thielen, scoring only 1.2 fantasy points. Of course, things were so bad that the Panthers front office decided to move on from Frank Reich before the end of his first season as head coach. Thomas Brown will take over play-calling duties (again) and attempt to right the ship in Carolina.

When you look at the Panthers' offense, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Thielen doesn’t remain the centerpiece for the rest of the season. While Jonathan Mingo has shown improvement over the last four weeks, Thielen is the team's only proven high-end target earner.

Despite averaging 8.5 points per game over the last four contests, Thielen still has a 25% average target share.

Adam Thielen

Thielen isn’t good just from a Panthers lens — he is good from an NFL perspective. The 33-year-old WR ranks No. 12 in target share (28%), averaging nine targets.

In Week 13, the Panthers face off against a Buccaneers secondary allowing the second-most passing yards (287) and the sixth-most TDs (1.5).

Thielen’s price point has become reasonable on DraftKings at $6,600 and shouldn’t be highly owned. This is a great spot to buy into Thielen’s substantial target shares rather than his dip in recent box scores.

Thielen is my WR16 and is a top-40 play.

Tier 4 – Courtland Sutton

Sutton hasn’t given us a single 25-plus point game all season, but he has made up for what he lacks in upside with amazing consistency. He has only scored less than 10 points in two outings and averages 13.9 points per game. He leads all Broncos pass catchers with a 23% target share.

Courtland Sutton

Over the last month, the Broncos’ defense has played much better, allowing the team to lean heavily on their run game. Since Week 6, they have been a run-heavy unit, posting DBOEs of -7%, -2%, -7%, -7%, 7% and -13%.

This sort of playing style makes it hard to get too excited about any Broncos WR — especially considering three of the -7% marks came in matchups against the Chiefs and Bills. This team wants to stick to the run at all costs, but Sutton has dominated end zone targets (44%), making him a sneaky two-score threat.

Plus, Denver faces the Texans, who average the second-most passing yards in the NFL (276). As 3.5-point dogs, there is a chance the Broncos will get pushed slightly out of their comfort zone against Houston. Especially considering Houston allows the seventh-fewest rushing yards (95) and the sixth-most passing yards (268) per contest.

Sutton will carry some rostership in a matchup with the second-highest point total, but given Denver’s passing woes, it shouldn’t get out of hand — making him a solid bet at $5,400.

Sutton is my WR20 and a top-50 flex option in Week 13.

Reminder: I have leveled my tiers across RB, WR and TE to help with flex lineup decisions. So, getting to Tier 1 is hard — often, Tier 2 is where you will find my highest-ranked TE.

Tier 4 – Trey McBride

Since taking over a full-time role in Week 8, McBride averages 8.8 targets and 14.8 fantasy points per contest. During that span, his lowest target share is 20%

Trey McBride

If we remove the position from the equation, McBride is playing more like a WR2 than the low-end TE1 price tag he still has on DraftKings at $4,900. That makes him a great option to consider in the flex if you go with a cheaper option like Juwan Johnson at TE.

The Steelers allow the eighth-most receiving yards per game (254.5) and are hurting at linebacker after injuries to Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander.

McBride ranks 15 spots ahead of industry consensus as my No. 50 player overall.

Tier 5 – Taysom Hill

Between dropbacks, rushing attempts and targets, Hill has averaged 10.5 opportunities over the last six games. He has been a high-end TE1 during that span, averaging 14.1 fantasy points.

The Saints won’t have Michael Thomas (IR) again this weekend and could also be without Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (thigh). The injuries leave them perilously thin and could lead to a game plan centered around Alvin Kamara, Hill and Juwan Johnson.

Hill is my TE5 and ranks 11 spots above industry consensus as a top-65 overall option.

Tier 6 – Juwan Johnson

Johnson registered a season-high with seven targets (19%) and an 85% route participation in Week 12.

Juwan Johnson

Johnson has flashed decent target-earning ability in the past, so we could see more of the same in Week 13, thanks to a banged-up receiving corps that could be without Thomas, Olave and Shaheed. Kamara and Johnson are the two best bets to lead the Saints in targets this weekend, and Johnson flashed high-end TD upside last year in the red zone.

Johnson UPGRADES to low-end TE1 status as my TE11.
